So our cat keeps yelling at the back door to go out.

When we open the back door she starts yelling because it's cold!

Every 5 minutes this is repeated!

You just can't please a cat.

I have the opposite problem in that my cat likes to sit in the flowerbeds when it’s raining until she gets soaking wet and leaves a muddy trail through the house - she doesn’t like the snow though!

I'm not sure our cat has ever really seen snow other than a little smattering on the pavement but nothing that's really settled.

Can’t you get a cat flap?

Cats can be a awkward & obnoxious. I warn mine if they don’t behave I’ll send them back next door and they’ll be no cheesecake, take aways and hobnobs, they soon get back into line

No because she absolutely will not wear a collar so we can't get one of those electronic ones that only lets her in. We have a lot of cats round here that pester our cat so I feel that Local cats will try and use our house as a doss pad!

We have a catflap that is triggered by puss's microchip.

No, you set it by putting the cat nearby with it in programming mode (the catflap, not the cat). You can do this for several cats too. It can be opened from the inside just by pushing, but it will only let in the stored cat(s) from outside. I think the brand is Sureflap. Make sure that you get one big enough for your cat though.

I have a CatMate..

Don't buy more tags at £10 each. 10x RFID Tags for £2.50 on eBay delivered work just fine.

Trouble is, kick em out, they're back in 2 minutes later, so I jam the flap with a trainer and watch them try to open it..

I refuse to play the door game anymore. He makes his choice and it's final.

Another annoying thing is he has a cap flap but he feels using it is beneath him. He uses it all day long when no one is at home. But if anyone is in he'll scratch at the door either side till someone opens it to let him through. Likewise I don't indulge him on this. Even though he's stubborn and will do this for ages. Eventually after a few minutes he'll give up and just go through the bloody flap.

My catflap had In,Out,locked positions. When I was on nights in Winter I locked it.Came home to find it smashed with the debris inside.I assumed kids had been in the garden and kicked it in.Replaced it,two weeks later smashed again. Replaced and caught the little bugger, front claws under the lip of flap as he strained with his back legs until it broke.Always hated being in unless on his terms. So a hole in the door until I got a new door then no cat flap.In and out through kitchen window on demand. Then older and in and out through door. Then out for 30 seconds. Now so old he doesn't go out.Even with the door open in Summer he will just stand in doorway and watch me in the garden.

I’m loving the thought of this - must be driving you nad.

I took my chocolate lab to the park today and the grass was icy and crunchy underfoot. He was less than impressed when he tried to do his favourite hobby designed specifically to piss me off - namely dive into a huge muddy puddle - and instead he skidded across because it was frozen solid and landed on his arse! He looked absolutely bewildered whilst I pissed myself laughing!

Minus 4 and shit don't mix. Cold bottoms.

On the subject, think someone got caught short at a dogging car park. Pile of poop piled like a Walnut Whip, frozen solid with paper at the side stuck to the tarmac!!

Not a pretty sight..
