Stop relying on beating Wales to give you something to cheer about.

Your 2nds should beat us. At least it's not Iceland knocking you out this time or some other small nation

Nevermind worse things to moan about at the moment. At least the over paid footballers haven’t got to worry about putting the heating on, putting food on the table, putting fuel in their cars like nurses, doctors, ambulance crews etc etc . Rant over !!

40k hardly going to struggle not forgetting most GPs are pushing for 90k a year and as for what football players get they are getting what they are worth right or wrong clubs are willing to pay them as there is that much money in football I don’t begrudge them or use it as a stick to hit them with

Besides, without these wages there wouldn't be as much money going into the tax system.

About 3 feet away from the fence

The money in football is a reflection on how much people are willing to pay to watch the product being practiced by the elite-level performers. It isn't arbitrary, it isn't state-sponsored, it's revenue is a measurement of what many millions of people think the product is worth in an open market.

One of my favourite games is playing devils advocate.

People will always hate on footballs players due to the m9ney they earn. I do accept it is a ridiculous amount however if somebody offered you the same you would take it, regardless of your morals and thoughts you would. The same as many people in the country at the moment I am struggling with the rise in the cost of living and if I was offered high end football wages I am sorry but I would take it despite my thoughts for those NHS, MOD, Civil, Postal workers that are also struggling. And so would 99% I think.

Does anybody consider other sports? F1 drivers earning millions yearly and live in tax break nations. Golfers earn how much for winning tournaments?

What about high wnd businesses that sst up off shore HQs to avoid tax payments? MPs that earn more than most inc their pensions, I have seen somewhere the pension for PM which is currently 3x my current year I before I pay tax.

I don't normally get involved in this sorted of this however if you are going to aim at footballers consider the revenue they bring in, its relative to their wages, whether we as a nation believe rhat to be right or wrong. We need to looj at all involved and again it is relative, do I bring in enough money at work to justify a stupendous wage? Do you?

"One of my favourite games is playing devils advocate.

Do you?

"

I agree with this. And people forget that there are high profile players who use their position for good. Marcus Rashford is a perfect example

It wasn’t a bad performance from England at all, I thought they were more than a match for France on the night. We were denied one of the clearest penalty fouls in history early on, which would have altered the dynamic of the game entirely, and Harry Kane missing the later penalty, with the pressure of equalising at that point, 68 thousand people in the stadium, 25 million watching on tv, kicking against his club team mate, I wouldn’t have wanted to be in his shoes. He will beat himself up for the rest of his life now, bless him….

Me neither but it shows their character

They played well and the team knows that but wasn't to be but also it doesn't really matter because doesn't affect anyone but the team and the charities they donate all of their wages from the games to and that's obviously something to laugh at with the current situation the world is in

Before the tournament the two biggest concerns were a weak central defence and our over reliance on Kane for goals, and against a really good team I think both of those factors came into play. We do need a consistent second goalscorer and more depth in central defence.

Think you're being a bit harsh on the defence...the first goal was a good strike which 9 out of 10 times would of either missed or been saved, the 2nd was just an absolute quality ball from Griesmann, something we lacked the whole game...but I do agree with goalscorer tho, where is the next Kane..isn't he 34 by the time of next world cup??

That's fair, overall they played well but perhaps a bit out of position for the 2nd ?

Kane will be 32 for next WC, not so old but also he seems to be dropping deeper these days so less of a target man. I like Calvert Lewin if he can stay fit. Callum Wilson will be 34 by next WC and Ivan Toney 30 so I'd rather look to the young strikers now.

The only good thing about a winter World Cup is that the euro 2024 in Germany is only 18 months away.. which means basically this 26 aren’t really going anywhere!

The only one that may give up international football is Jordan Henderson… but other than that

I hope Conor Gallagher is a regular by then, he has more goals from midfield than others.

I don't get the kane as a striker thing. He's most often found in the midfield... He's a tidy midfielder but is he as good as our other midfielders.? As a striker ha didn't do much in 5 games.
