"I was in Sainsbury's and there was a Santa collecting for Cancer Research (whom I might add I donate £25 a month to) and as I walked past him he literally waved the collection bucket in my face...I declined saying "I have no change" at which point he pulled out a chip and pin machine. Now I'll give him a 10 for ingenuity but I was absolutely insensed by his behaviour. Was I in the wrong to be annoyed for feeling pressured to donate??" Nope. I don't do 'chuggers'. If charities didn't have to pay people to be professional fund raisers/shopping centre guilt trippers then there'd be more for the causes. A

I wont walk down Bristol high street anymore because every time I do I end spending the best part of £20 on random causes. I walk away feeling the same way as you.

Not that we can go into Bristol anymore without being mugged by Marvin for £9..... Every time someone jumps out and says 'Big Issue ?' to me whilst wearing more expensive trainers than I own and holding an iPhone 14 in their other hand, I just reply with "the current price of diesel and the fact there's no Krispy Kreme shop anywhere near home." A" It’s worse than that even… charities don’t pay people to be chuggers. Chuggers work for a company that charges the charity to organise people to collect. The terms are so horrendous, the 1st 3 YEARS of donations go to the chugging company and only if the DD still stands, do the charities start getting any money. *it works on the hopes that you’ll never cancel

"In what way did I lead him on??? How dare he pull a chip and pin machine stunt on me...that should have been willingly displayed next to him!!" Then you should've said....... I don't have a card. I find that an honest no ..... is enough.

"Just pisses me off full stop that they sit by the doors so when you're trying to get out the shop with all your shopping and starving hungry then do they pounce on people. " Yes, same thing with the security guards when you 'forget' to swipe a few things through self service.

"I read that as "pissed on by Santa"...." I did the opposite and pissed on Santa in his grotto, in front of hundreds of people waiting in the queue in Milton Keynes shopping centre. I'd been waiting over an hour for my turn and d*unk a full supersized Mac Dees Cola. Sitting down on his lap I couldn't hold, I just let it go, much to his and my own distress. It's up to you if you believe that I was 6 or 36
