Do you fear growing old? Do you do things to combat the affects?

little house on the praire

I'm happy to grow old. I've had an up and down life and now I just want peace and quite. I've had a bad year this year so hoping the next one will be quite

Growing old is something no one can do anything about , it happens to everyone , in life do what you can when you can

Honestly, no. It's a privilege. I fear one day having to say goodbye to my loved ones, but we are so lucky to grow old and we are so lucky to be able to age. I'm doing my best to make people in my life happy and spend my time wisely, and there's nothing we can do to stop time. So fearing growing old will do nothing but make me miserable. I'm not wasting my energy on something like that.

No I don't fear it. I do stuff to stay as fit and flexible as possible but not too much because I'm essentially lazy. I use moisturiser and colour my hair.

I've seen how unpleasant unhealthy old age is and I'd like to avoid that if possible.

My Grandparents minds went long before their bodies did.

I try to keep fit but I feel its all in vain if my mind goes like that.

I don't think there's a lot you can do about that ultimately. Remaining interested, active and social helps apparently

Yes it's just always at the back of my mind. On the other hand on my mothers side of the family her grandfather lived well until he was 105 years old. I hope I follow him for that, although I doubt it.

It's a shame to be concerned in your 40s.

I'm happy to grow old, it's better than the alternative

My mum has vascular dementia and I definitely would rather die than go through what she's been through. I do excersises including swimming and Yoga to try and stay as fit and healthy as possible.
