"Does the matrix count?" Yeah sure. Some sci-if movies cross several genres, the Matrix has plenty of action but the primise/storyline is definitely sci-fi

"pitch black.. and riddick follow on movies" I like these a lot too. I even geek out on the hard to find animations, like "chronicles of riddick dark fury" that connect the plots of the live action films. There's a spin off TV show that's been in the pipeline for years now called "merc city" that i'm waiting for.

"Star Wars 4 because of the age I was when it came out. To this day no scifi film has excited me as much. I even remember swapping character stickers etc in the playground. 2001 is flawless, 2010 is stylistically very different but it had to be made, I just hope they do make the rest. Keep hearing rumours so we'll see. The Alien franchise has been brilliant, though I think the prequels have been better than the sequels. The new Star Trek films have been fantastic, and the casting magnificent. Whoever put Pine up for Captain Kirk wants an Oscar for doing that. It's inspired. If you like a comedy one that's not very well known, Space Station 76 is worth watching. Sci Fi buffs will love it, especially if you like late seventies/early eighties low budget stuff. A real laugh is Lifeforce, from 1985. British made using what would appear to be the sets from Garth Merenghis Darkplace! Some very famous faces slumming it in that. " This is an inspired wind up
