This Morning !

There seems to be a lot of illness and injury in these forums of late which made me think we could really do with Doctor Hilary being a member.

Maybe a new forum section to report your illnesses to ?

Anyway, my mind wandered (it's an age thing) to wider programming and decided that we need our own This Morning ! cast

We need nominations for the role of :

Sensible but friendly and laughy male anchor

Giggly / girly female anchor that looks well put together, laughs at double entendres but can look serious at the right moments

The concerned doctor

The sickeningly gushy agony aunt (or uncle)

The straight laced psychotherapist

The cook - preferably a bit daft / batty

A panel of experts - on all sorts of things you didn't realise there was a need for an expert on

and lastly, but more importantly, the guests - those that make us laugh, cry or simply entertain

Choose away

I think this is a super idea but would insist upon rewriting the job description of the agony aunt (or uncle).

Sickeningly gushy is about as useful as tea and sympathy. Calling everyone luvvy and not having any real compassion or knowledge.

It should be as below:

Job role: agony aunt

No nonsense, tell it like it is, truthful yet sympathetic and knowledgeable in all fields from wiggly bits to relationships and everything in between.

I'm tinting my cv as I speak lol

Now I agree entirely, but we need someone who can pull off the whole Denise Robertson role - so you need to be straight talking but sickeningly sympathetic at the same time

But that's my point, the recipe fos an agony aunt must change - it's the 21st century fgs. Sickeningly sympathetic doesn't solve problems and is subliminally permissive to the behaviour that got them in a fix.

I.e: oh you poor luv there there it wasn't your fault you had unprotected sex oh I do feel for you luvvy I mean she could have told you she was HIV positive couldn't she? Now you don't worry about a thing at least you both enjoyed yourselves that's the most important thing darling luvvy sweetie there there you don' t worry about a thing. Dear boy what an awful time you've had and now a father to be with health issues to boot at 22 aw bless don't you worry your little head.

See utterly useless and he not only feels sorry for himself but thinks the whole world does too.
