Not a place i have gone to much over the years, looking for a sofa for my daughter's new flat. Just thinking might be worth waiting for the January sales.

Question is does IKEA normally have much of a sale on things like sofa's ???

Ikea doesn't really do sales but they do have stuff in their clearance section all year round.

Have you looked on the book of faces market type place? . Listings usually have a location on them.

I did receive a very nice blow job in the IKEA store at Eastgate in Bristol a few years back , the kitchen display area has a few secluded corners !!!

I think you get much better quality and price than Ikea with second hand sofas

Went for a job in IKEA a few years ago, the HR guy opened the door and said "come on in and make a seat"

What does a person obsessed with Ikea suffer from? Stock-home syndrome

Ok if you don’t mind having old flea ridden furniture in your house.

In fairness to the OP he only asked a question. Goodness me, I would rather offer help to a slightly different thread than the repetitive threads we see daily.

OP, my daughter recently bought a new sofa from Facebook and its really lovely. Take a look.

It's part of the character, if you happen to choose one like that

Have a look out for furniture auctions or furniture warehouses/wholesalers etc. Can get some good deals.

I think there may be a few places around West Bromwich. I've passed a sofa place in the high street on route to Xtasia too.

If you're dead set on IKEA I've just seen on the Martin Lewis website that the confirmed date for their sale starting is Monday 12th December.

Though like many here, I'd recommend having a look a pre-loved furniture from selling sites and charity shops.

Yes. Some charity shops have excellent options.

If its for a new flat it's going to get a lot of wear and tear, if you haven't already try local private sellers on freecycle, ebay or gumtree.

Large items like sofa, tables and chairs don't sell well due to shipping but if someone if needing to move, re decorate, or a recent purchase doesn't suit, you could get a decent used bargain for near nothing.

From an online neighbourhood group my son got a three piece leather suite in perfect condition for free, and I got a lovely creamy coloured, comfortable four seater settee, also for free.

You'd likely get better quality looking at second hand and clean or get new covers. Sofas are a hassle to dispose of, so many are just listed free.

There is an ikea near where we live. They employ lots of people in the local area, I know a few of them who work at different levels within the organisation.

Every one says it’s a fantastic company to work for.

Those Swedish folks are doing something right.
