I also usually like more personal recommendations OP and had a thread previously about nice b&bs or hotels people stayed. It gives you the chance to ask more questions if somebody recommends something. Good luck with your search, someone on here might own one or stayed in one that can recommend for you.

The Airbnb rentals I’ve ever booked were whole apartments and often I’d never meet or see the landlord. Let alone the neighbours.
