Prepare yourself !

Out for a nice meal at the weekend, really enjoyed it and was just having a nice Irish coffee to finish off

A couple at the side of us exchanged a little conversation and then their meals came. He had a lovely piece of salmon, nice potatoes and veg - looked really nice ( you always peep admit it )

He then unbelievably asked for brown sauce !!!! Then covered his potatoes in it

Whats wrong with people, brown sauce with salmon !

When I first meet my husband he used to cover everything in red sauce, and I mean everything.

Came to learn it was a habit he picked uo fter using it for so long to hide the taste of his mums food

You don't know what issues if any he has with food....To judge it weird when you don't know his story is pretty judgemental IMHO.

Tonypandy.

I used to hate it when people plastered salt and pepper on thier food before even trying it.

Remember one lady ordering our salt and pepper crispy roast potatoes, adding a tonne of extra salt and then complaining they were too salty. Tried to say she didn't know they were already seasoned.

Or the guy that ordered our fire-cracker chilli fries for his kid, despite being advised that it had a very very hot chilli, which I even offered to swap out for a milder variety. If course, kid refused to eat them, he created a stink, had to make kid something else. Dad ate fries, which blew his head off.

I'm with OP, only I would extend that to be brown sauce with anything at all.

Dreadful stuff. At lunch break I always have to double check that I picked up BBQ sauce & not the brown stuff by mistake.

Oh c'mon! She's not being judgmental. Making some commentary on life and starting some lighthearted banter. If we can't even comment anonymously on things we see around us, what is life coming to??

Some of these forumites are so religiously "it's their preference, live with it,"! Yes, preferences are preferences, but they can be interesting to discuss. I don't think anyone's considering banning brown sauce on salmon.

This is true. There have been some fun comments and culinary inspiration.

Wrote that earlier comment after reading just a few. The one I responded to (and I think some others) seemed critical of giving such opinions.
