I’m thinking of setting up some kind of social event in the New Year for people to make new friends, date and whatever else. It will be open to people from fab but I’ll also use other platforms to invite a wider audience too. Just wondering if there would be much interest?

It’s not really a fab orientated meet, more just a social gathering of people who are looking to make connections.

Probably looking at mid January by the time we generate enough interest and sort a venue etc but I’m thinking it would be great to put together an event once a fortnight (one during the week like a weekday evening then the next fortnight on a Sunday) to enable everyone to come to at least one?

It would be great if anyone’s interested in helping organise this or even just give me their feedback on whether they would come and what they would like to see? Could even just be something simple like an organised walk or then a function room in a pub…

So for example, the 1st event mid January in Newcastle on a Wednesday evening, the 2nd event would be end of January in Peterlee on a Sunday if you get me

Club shhh in newcastle does an all comers day on a Wednesday, so none members can go, that might prove to be competition for your event.

I'd have a look in the meets and events section, there are quite a few north east Jan ones already, Leeds social, York too, just to not clash.

I'm a midweek person, and will likely be at shhh on Thursday. Mixing with other platforms....hmm...not sure
