They don't seem to taste like they did when we were children. Christmas was about the only time we had them. Mandarins were a favourite too. I always thought they were called 'manjareens' when I was a kid

I fumble around with the netting to see if there's a mouldy one in the bag.

Lidl were terrible one year for mouldy fruit and veg.

I think that's because they are force grown now so they don't have time to develop the flavour. I saw an article about how our fruit and vegetables have lost a lot of their nutritional value because of selection to make them bigger and grow quicker.
