Crazy wildlife people are planning to reintroduce so called wildcats into Devon. In Scotland these so called wildcats interbreed with domestic cats.

Tom has only three questions..

Why? Why? Why?

Am I the only one now thinking of the Goldie Hawn film and picturing American football players running around Devon, breeding with the natives?

Just me then

Central

They are a species that's worth preserving. I think some parts of Devon were evaluated as reasonable places for this, with minimal negative impacts.

It's going to be reasonable if they manage to minimise interaction with domestic cats, partly due to the location choices.

Tom will be safe, even if there

Devon is a county which has a big rivalry with its neighbouring county which is called Cornwall. They constantly bicker over the correct order of putting cream and jam on a scone.
