A question re messages.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Ok I know the etiquette about not sending endless messages to those who have deleted your message or replied with a 'no thanks'. No issue there. Knowing that some if not most women on here get more than a few messages from us chaps what is the etiquette regarding un read messages? Do I accept an unread message as a 'no thanks' or do I try again?

Its a genuine question, I'd like to know what you think.

Id take it as they either havent gotten round to opening it yet, or they havent got round to emptying there in box messages.

If they havent read the first one, not sure if they will read a follow up one.

Some people check profiles before they open the message so know whether they are interested or not

If the first message you sent has not been read, what makes you think the second one will be?

To be greeted by a succession of mesages - "why have you not replied"' "???????" etc - when you log on is off-putting I find.

I had a guy throw a hissy fit when I didn't reaf and reply to a message despite the fact I was online.

I would have explained that I'd been to answer the door but he'd already blocked me.

I am guilty of not reading messages, some I have genuinely missed, some because you can tell they are the 'hi how you?' variety, and some because I have come on here to look at the forums and not in the mood chat, so sometimes sending a 2nd message a few days later works for me, there are various reasons why I have not opened a message

Just send the first message, there is no need to follow up with a second one, if they haven't read your first message, they probably won't read your other message either,

I'd say it depends on time scale. I've had guys email me and then get pushy because I've not answered the same day. They just email themselves out of getting to know me.

I've had unread messages in my inbox that I've only found when I've been clearing out, I have my filters set but can still get a load of emails sometimes that take forever to read and if you then start chatting from that you never get to read them all.

If it's been over a week and they've been online, prob won't hurt to send again.

But it's likje everything, what suits one person will be different for otherrs

polite message, if its unread its unread, if its deleted its deleted.

I try again, I'm no pest...I'll wait for a possible later opportunity(it happens)

IF u get blocked then so be it...people can block despite their being no misbehaviour.

now if u say in a msg "a no thanks is fine", and they say no thanks...then that is a 'no'- then thats when u remember not to message tham again..or block(I find that a bit childish blocking people because u/they said nothanks- thats MY opinion tho)

I would send a second asking why they had not read the first! My point is that if a lady gets lots of messages then I can imagine that a few will get missed. I just thought that a second a week or two later might be seen...

They throw hissy fits with me all the time .. I feel im stuffed either way really ..

Just how do you reply to HI !

if I dont reply to some messages I get grief if I say no thanks ..they say I didnt want you anyway, then the names start. So now I read the profile and just delete if they dont have a face pic. Delete if they havent read my profile.

great selection process.

Oops just noticed... that should be, I would NOT send a second asking why my first had been ignored.

Repeat messages, when I havent read the first one, get both deleted unread.

If Im avoiding my inbox, it is because I dont have time/energy to deal with my inbox.
