Any insight on the reason behind this?

Well maybe it's a case of not reading too much into what people say and paying attention to what they do. If someone states that they don't meet single men and then they make contact with you then perhaps you should take that as a compliment that they found you attractive enough to bend their own rules.

We meet single guys but if we stated that on our profile we'd be flooded with them, like has happened in the past. So now we do what you have experienced - we make contact with them as and when we wish to play with a single man.

Some people will state they are not seeking males just to put a stop to so bloody many messages, and seek themselves, it may not be they aren't seeking males but not wanting to be seeked themselves, it's an easier option than taking loads of messages with comments like 'want to meet?' or 'nice pics, you sexy'.

I would suggest if they have winked and you are interested either wink back or message saying thanks for the wink, etc etc.
