Anyone else do contrast showers in the morning?

Start with your normal shower then finish with a few minutes icy cold.

Better than any caffeine to start the day. There are health benefits to it as well.

Noticed this morning it was a tad fresher but we did have the first real frost last night.

I take people cold water dipping / swimming

I never just jump in or tell anybody else too.

The reason people die doing what you say is the cold water shock, an adult male can drown on a cup of water when they jump in and have the shock they naturally inhale deeply, around 3 to 4 litres

Often in very cold reservoirs or deep bodies of water.

Always respect Mother Nature or she will bite your ass

I used to do it but just like a hot shower after a run now, I don't think my heart could take the excitement anymore

Yes! Last Christmas my (probably evil) housemate decided to get an eco boiler fitted, and of course, something went wrong and we had no hot water until January. I had a lot of cold showers over that period and my skin and hair actually looked better - so I kept that as an element of my routine, going forwards. Really has made a difference.
