"I am currently sat on the hard shoulder of the motorway after hitting a tyre that came off a recovery vehicle in front of me. Said tyre is stuck underneath my car and I am sat on the hard shoulder waiting for a recovery vehicle to rescue me. This year has been bad luck after bad luck and I give up!" I call that GOOD luck. You could be dead.

"Jack your own car up and pull the tyre out. i didnt like to say that but is what id do " If I didn't have a very dodgy hip I would do. Its also on the driver's side and I'm on a very narrow hard shoulder.

"Jack your own car up and pull the tyre out. " No: keep away from your car because something could hit it. Stay the other side of the metal barriers. Phone the AA or RAC or Police.

" That's what they said or to stay in on the passenger side which I'm doing as the fence is very high and my hip would struggle to get over it.

"Deploy your warning triangle, put your hazard warning lights on and your seat belt. I'd advise you to get out of the car but if you're staying in seatbelt on and passenger seat and move the rear view mirror so you can see behind you." I'm just on the hard shoulder so there'd be no where to deploy the triangle. Hazards are on, rear view mirror is moved.

"get the jack out woman NO! Don't try the jack it's too bloody dangerous!!! Warning triangle goes behind the car down the road a bit." If you are stopped on the hard shoulder of a busy road (A road or motorway) you do NOT want to be walking 20 metres down the the carriageway in the dark to place a silly piece of triangle somewhere a passing car/lorry might see it at 70mph. They do not slow down even when they see hazard warning lights a mile up ahead so a useless triangle isn't going to get them to slow down either. IF you can't rectify the problem yourself (which in this case we've established she can't) then you get up the embankment if you can, and if you can't you move ahead of the vehicle enough so that if someone did hit it they wouldn't shunt it into you.

I know it's your car but it can be replaced.. you can't.. Apologies as I don't want to be a scare monger!!

"Are you waiting for recovery people? If so establish where the highways peeps are to drop you and what time recovery will arrive to collect your keys to get your car. Stress that you are a female alone who is not physically capable of getting to q safe place - guilt them into a speedy arrival!" Have you recovered yourself

"You had some poor advice on here, for example: "Jack your own car up and pull the tyre out" plus some gratuitous and pointless 'advice' like flashing your tits. op let us know when you're ok. " Is that supposed to be a dig? Do you get humour at all? I followed it up with some real advice like not tramping down a dark carriageway with a silly plastic triangle.

" I am guessing you didn't get the vehicles number so I would contact highways and the police to see if the incident and the other drivers number was in cctv. Secondly contact your insurance co, if they think you have a good case they will get you a hire car and bill the other drivers insurance. With luck the evidence will be available as it will hinge on that.

Highways are hopeful they can get the reg as there is lots of cctv and they were actually watching me on it for a while whilst I was waiting for recovery. If they do offer a car make sue you get like for like or better size wise as some will try and fob you off with a small one.

I would imagine if the cctv shows the tyre coming off and me hitting it then I can prove it wasn't my fault?
