Hannah works abroad so it happens quite a lot.

If it's for pleasure rather than business then as long as the relationship is a priority, there doesn't need to be a problem.

I went to Portugal a few weeks ago without hubby. I was feeling very low, hubby had run out of work holidays, so I took myself off for a while. It was good, I needed to do it for myself, we all need some alone time when life gets a bit much

I’m away again this weekend with my sister on a break to Blackpool. No issue with me going. Gives hubby a break from me, he gets to watch what he wants on tv and gets the bed to himself. Always a lovely welcome when I get back as we’ll miss each other like crazy

Why not? I think it's essential to have solo holidays while in a relationship. Gives you time apart and have your own space for a bit. Makes you miss each other too

We know a few people who travel separately and can't see a problem with it.

Personally I wouldn't want to go on holiday alone or with friends I much prefer to go with Mr N. I often go out alone or with friends though.

We all need our own time, space to just be us without worrying about others.

Re the trip whilst in a relationship, why not but be prepared to discuss why with the other person, as they are likely to have questions or might feel more to it. For example, what’s the reason for the trip, mates birthday or away with friends. If solo, is it something they don’t want to do, don’t have the holiday, or you just need downtime.

Communication works wonders and stops any doubts.

Personally I would think it quite healthy to have a little time separate from a partner, especially if you have different preferences for holiday locations.

A friend of mine happily married takes himself off solo camping and hiking regularly. I need this kind of but never found a partner that understands. It has to come at a cost somewhere, if you work full time you only get a few weeks a year and there’s usually partners and kids wanting your time

I'm happy for people I'm seeing to go on solo trips. They have done and it's nice hearing about/seeing photos after. Most of the time I've had an "oh I wish you were there" kind of comment after it.

You don't need to be joined at the hip for everything and sometimes it's great to have that switch off, escape. I'm itching to do it next year. One week of me wandering about, exploring, doing exactly what I want, when I want and not having to think about anyone but me sounds like heaven. Ireland or maybe Prague.
