....only now discovering 'Cunk on Britain'

A history lesson and a piss take all rolled in to one.... brilliant.

What other tv gems are lying undiscovered out there?

Give me your best

What We Do in the Shadows - the TV show.

And she’s a local girl too. Which makes her proper fit.

She’s hilarious and has a great act.

It's so good! I rewatched the orgy episode last night because Matt Berry is perfection in it.

'The Resort' on sky is one of the best one off series I've seen in a long time. Drama/sci fi/comedy about a couple on holiday but it's great I swear.

Also white lotus is possibly the best thing I've seen ever

Oh Ghosts! I think that's the name. Yes that's quite enjoyable, the latest season had a really poignant episode in it.

Cunk is great! Check out Mandy too if you like Diane Morgan (though I admit I find the weird mouth thing she does in that hard to watch).

Have you watched "The Detectorists"? One of my lockdown discoveries and I loved it. Funny and poignant.

For a drama, and this was actually going to be the subject of a thread I never got round to starting of 'things that sound terrible but are brilliant', I'd recommend "State of Happiness", which is all about the Norwegian oil industry in the 1970s. In Norwegian. Told you it sounds awful (but it's very good)!

Think it looks like the shows are sold out , but here's an interview to make you feel better -

My favourite line (of many belters) is "I will say is that TV is broken. And I refuse to mend it twice."

Taskmaster. It's pretty popular, but everyone should be watching it as it's the funniest thing on TV

Titz Towers, North Notts

None of these are new:

Nightingales - surreal comedy that was amazing.

Early Doors - overshadowed by The Royle Family and Phoenix Nights, but much better than both.

Edge of Darkness (UK version) - won a load of awards, but not well remembered today.

Our Friends in the North - a huge programme with a stellar cast.

If you like Garth Marenghi, you can watch Horrifica Illuminata on YouTube.

Look around you and The Peter Serafinowicz show were good too.

I love Philomena Cunk.

I've mentioned Red Light a couple of times. Definitely my best series this year. Gripping, outstanding acting and awesome storyline, set in red light districts in Belgium and the Netherlands. Channel 4.

And while I'm at it, tho' not sure if it's still on a player anywhere, but 'Flight of the Conchords' is comedy gold, imho.
