I have actually done this on multiple occasions; have a look at the site, Reel Streets (for UK) or the IMDB site for places where filming took place on the entire planet!

Some places are almost unrecognisable, whilst others have changed only marginally.

I have been to the set of Game of Thrones in Tollymore Forest Park, when filming was taking place, and also to the set of Shrooms in Gosford Forest Park, both in Northern Ireland.

Some locations that were close to the film studios around London have been used on multiple occasions in many different genres especially locations that were close to Ealing Studios,Nettlefold,Elstreeetc.

Reel Streets are always looking for enthusiasts to identify former locations that have changed, almost beyond recognition.

Herve Attia has visited famous locations in USA, such as Bullitt car chase route, that is not contiguous; and Planet of the apes from 1968.

The specially constructed set for Ryan's Daughter in Kerry in 1970was actually demolished because Kerry County Council told David Lean that they did not want it!

That could have been a tourist trap.

I've been in the Winchester pub (AKA The Duke of Albany) when I was in Shaun of the Dead.

Sat in there between takes. Nicked a few beermats - probably worth something now, as the place was pulled down years ago.

Live near Wooley Wood bottom which was the cranes in Dr Who when Jodie W took over and found all the other places they used in Sheffield (Whovian)

Was on holiday and went past an old, disused petrol station in the middle of nowhere. Single Father had just been shown (2013 David Tennant) and DT was shown in that standing in that forecourt. Mum didn't believe me until we reached the next village which had been used as a base by the crew

I used to live in the children's home featured in Judge John Deed - the BBC hired the house several times from my mum over the years before she sold it.

I regularly go to Hemel Hempstead Old town which was used for the location of the newspaper office in Afterlife & going back a bit for the restaurant for the 90s drama Pie in the Sky

Though as as a kid I spent many a school holiday day playing on the back lot at Pinewood Studios. Whereas now the security is better than most prisons, back in the early 70s my mum would wave at the guards on the gate & they'd open the barrier for her to drive in & leave me at work with dad.

He would tell me to go & play on the back lot, & stay out of the way. If a security guard stopped you after telling them "Dad's working in the cutting rooms" they would normally suggest the best place to stand & watch whatever was being filmed.

Things have changed a bit over the past 40 plus years

A building on primrose street doubled for a building in Shanghai in one of the Bond movies (Skyfall I think)

Was walking my dog at seaton Carew in Hartlepool and I saw them filming Vera I stopped and was chatting to the security man as he made a beeline for me coz he loved a lurcher and I said what’s going on I thought they’d found someone dead he said it’s the series Vera

Done loads of Dirty Harry and Bullit stuff in San Francisco, Night of the Living Dead in Evans City, Robocop in Dallas but going to the Slaughtered Lamb in Crickadarn might be the best one.

Next up is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

East of Eden, West of Hell

Been to Alcatraz where a few films have been set/made.

Crossed the Bixby Bridge which has been in a couple of series.

Walked around the set of 'The Good Place' whilst at Universal Studios.

Stood at the bottom of Carrie Bradshaw's steps.

I'm sure I've been other places, but can't think, off the top of my head

We live not far from Tabernas (the only true desert in Europe) where numerous films have been, and are still made, the good the bad and the ugly, for a few dollars more, Lawrence of Arabia, more recently one of the Indiana Jones films, apparently Swarzenegger is making one here at some point soon. But there is always something going on.

Port Isaac (Doc Martin) - was there when film crew turned up, we were stuck for over an hour cos of all the vans.

Lerwick (Shetland) - have a pic stood outside Jimmy Perez house.

St Michael's Mount (countless locations) - was there when they were filming scenes for House of the Dragon.

Keynance Cove (House of the Dragon) - scenes for the Crabfeeder battle.

Wilton House (countless locations) - most recent was (I think) Bridgerton?

Think that was for outlander series. I've seen lots of Liverpool used as film or TV series. The last Batman had a lot of Liverpool locations including the Liver buildings and St George's Hall. There was a serial that featured formby and freshfield a few months ago - can't remember the name of it though

Yea. Ever since I watched Jurassic Park as a child and they flew over OSA Peninsula, Costa Rica in a helicopter I was obsessed.

So I spent three months there sleeping in a tent and volunteering in that very jungle.
