A donkey.

As in a real one. In the hotel room next to mine. At 5 in the morning.

LOL

Some lads from Glasgow were staying in room next door and course they "hit town" with a vengeance. They ended up in the 'real' redlight district, not just the "for the tourists" bit and they'd found this donkey - yes... available for hire to, ahem, use.... and nicked it and brought it back to their room.

Cue utter chaos when they got evicted by the hotel's staff, along with the donkey.

Manneken Pis Damrak - fantastic chips with mayo or many other choices of sauces. There are many similar but this is the one people queue for.

The architecture, truly beautiful which is the best thing about Amsterdam.

The Anne Frank museum, very thought provoking.

The canals -amble alongside them for miles and hours!

The station is a thing of beauty.

You can’t forget the bikes, the sex workers, the Condomaire, the cheese

The memorials to sex workers are totally worth seeing as well.

Was there in 1975 with my wife, our first year of marriage, the wife very turned on by the ladies of the night in the Windows. Got very turned on by the dominatrix winking and beckoning at her. It was after that we started using the contact magazines. So whenever I think of Amsterdam the mental picture of the dominatrix dominates my thinking.
