?

I'm sure East Mids on here will cover a good chunk of France...it seems to cover about 80% of England

Just kidding OP, France is a lovely country that I've had the pleasure of visiting many times. I hope you enjoy living there.

I’ve worked in France a lot with various bands (I’m a SFX tech) and France has got a special place in my heart! I love it!!

The people, food and the history I love it all.

I hope to retire there when the time comes.

I'm sure we didn't go to the same France. The People are obnoxious! The place is beautiful but the people let it down

That’s such a shame, maybe my experiences might have been different as I was working along side French people on a day to day basis. I really got along with them.

A beautiful country, OP, and wonderful people was my experience when I lived there for a bit - most recent experience was a contract in 2019 just before pandemic.

Of course you will find idiots in any corner of the universe, but by and large, the French people I met, worked and socialised with, were decent human beings, with a high standard regarding politeness and respect for others.

I envy you a little

Meant to add this: If you are able to speak French or at least try to learn some, it helps enormously in most countries. I did find they warmed to me quickly when I spoke French, including mistakes which they corrected me on (a great thing to do!)

Been to France many times. Lovely people.

My friend’s wife is French and her family ridiculously nice. Not just them though - had many acts of kindness and great friendship from loads of French people.

Welcome to France. We are in the same department. Hope your settling in and getting used to living here. We've been here 3 years , still can't get used to shoos closing for 2 hours for lunch ha ha.

Yep imho you definitely didn’t go to the same parts as we have been to and lived but that’s why opinions matter because they are mostly personal.

Every time I watch Escape to the Chateau I get a yearning to go there. The only place in France that I’ve been to is the Tesco not far from the Port. I think I need to remedy that at some point.

France is a long way to go just for Tesco

It was a quick stop off - we didn’t have much time and it seemed to be the easiest and quickest place to go to. Plus the booze was cheap as chips.
