Tatoos

Not got one myself, but amazed at those who have and some of the work or art they are.

A lad in work just got his name tatooed on his arm in arabic I think.

If anyone is thinking of a Tatoo, what would you have and where?

I've been thinking for this for a long time and top of my right arm/shoulder, what of is the hard part, would like it to be a one off and design it myself. So as you can see, still go no ides

I have a few tattoos and i hate them now, id give anythjng to have them removed

i like to see them on other people if they good ones, i like men with full sleaves but i hate people who are just covered in a mish mosh of little crappy things, thats why i dis like mine, they old and just look rubbish now, i love to have some good ones but so hard 2 get them covered with anything id be happy with

I already have several. All in places that can be hidden if I don't want them seen.

I'm looking for a design at the moment in honour of my Grandparents. But can't find what I'm looking for. Looking for the Chinese symbol for Grandma and Grandpa, or equivalent. Its really hard. Hoping its going to go on my right shoulder blade.

I have a bird of paradise down my spine and have had it for 25 years....long before they became the fashion must have lol.

I like them, especially tribal, or unusual designs that are well inked.

I'm going to have a tattoo done, script on my ribs dedicated to my 3 children and my grandchild, it will be seen only by those who are close and intimate with me.

I'm currently bidding on this as a prize in the Scotland forums fundraising christmas social, wish me luck!

There's a bewildering trend for Gaelic tattoos at the moment - almost all adorning the bodies of people who don't speak a word of the language

I'm absolutely convinced there some tattoo artists ripping the pish out of some unsuspecting pretentious prats

Seen on the news recently a guy has all the names of every fallen soldier in Afganistan, 269 and still growing, wow that must be painful. Its his tribute, top man. x

Wanted to celebrate my 45th Birthday with a tattoo but took a while to decide - in the end I asked my tattooist to design me something with 3 violets on to signify my 3 children and the fact my Mum's fav flower was the violet (lost her when I was 17) - the design he came up with was beautiful and I love love love it xx xx

Some silly politions should do something like that to show thier gratitiude and support.

We both have tats, think nice ones look very sexy on a naked body. None of ours can be seen wearing normal clothes, but we're not keen on ones all down arms, on hands or on faces or crummy ones that look like they were done in prison!

If you're going to get a tattoo in a foreign language, beware! Beckham had "Victoria" in hindu sanscrit on his arm, or so he thought, but the tattooist spelt it wrong. Then there's the true story that was on the radio a while ago - a woman had a Chinese character tattooed on her shoulder. At a party her husband met a Chinaman and said "that's my wife over there with the Chinese tattoo that says "love' ". The Chinaman looked embarrassed and said "it's actually the Chinese character for 'prostitute'!"

One thing you have to remember is that colour fades over time, especially when exposed to sunlight.

Mine were very colurful when done, now they are just black, green and blue, all the reds yellows whites and oranges have faded away and they are only 14 years old. Remember a tattoo is for life, I would honestly suggest having no colour at all, just black designs.

Im covered in tattoos some i love still others id like to go back in time and remove..lol

Anyone who is thinking of getting a tat should sit and think long and hard about what to get, dont just rush into things because suddenly you want one. Best thing to do is visit your local tattoo artist and ask them for advice or even get them to put the dyline transfer on to see if what you want looks right where you want it.

Most tattoo artist will take the time out to talk to newbie ink wanters and can often be the source of good ideas as to what to have.

So take your time, get a good tattooist, some good artwork and be happy with ya new colourful self.

Just remeber they go on easy but dont come off with soap and water if ya dont like them.

P.s Im that needle shy nowdays that i cant even go into a tattoo studio..lmao

well am waiting on a date for surgery. if it doesnt go to plan and ends up not being keyhole but the full cut. well am getting a tatt of a zip. then i will finish it off by getting a piercing that is a zip puller.

I rather like that in a tattoo. The way the kinda blue-black that all tattoos used to be fades against sun/ weatherbeaten skin over time and distinguishes those who were inked in the days before it became a fashion trend.

This is partly what puts me off. I know a few people whose tattoos have faded to an unattractive mushy green. Also, skin aging has obscured the design almost entirely. There are some amazing blended colours these days that look fabulous, but I wouldn't want to be regretting it later from a point of view of quality (no regrets about choice).

Other reasons are inabilty to decide on a design (I agree Razz's looks fabulous :D), although I had an idea this morning that might work...and too much hair. What's the point of a tatt that's obscured even when you're naked?
