What’s the best meal you have had recently?

Can be home cooked or eating out

Looking for some inspiration for the perennial “What shall we have for tea” debate!

Thanks

Aglio e olio.

Simple, timeless, devastatingly delicious and quick.

Flipping love affogato. When I'm hungover I order a vanilla milkshake and single espresso shot and it's like my very own.

The best thing I've eaten recently was a beautifully fresh burrata with salmoriglio on a stonebaked flatbread, drizzled with extra olive oil. So so good.

It can be anything really, it's amazing that when you're hungry whatever you eat is absolutely gorgeous, plenty of veg and fish or chicken is beautiful , for something quick you can't beat a cheese & tomato sandwich, all beautiful to me depends on the time of day and how fast it's needed or time available

Dubai & Nottingham

Eating out rarely inspires me unless it’s Italian as it’s usually better than my own

The Italian at the end of my road is the best I’ve found, or maybe the one opposite Greenwich DLR. I had an amazing cheese, meat and prawn antipasta platter and chicken and asapargus mains in white wine , cream, with penne. And a bottle of Barolo. I dream of that meal, Fuck I’m hungry for an Italian now

This, basically.

I can do good "Italian" food at home.

But real, authentic, family owned and lovingly made food. It's another world apart.

I miss my old favourites, and I'm struggling to find new ones back West.

Mayfair

Brixham cod with a lemon & olive crust, served with marsh samphire.

Dessert was baked caramel custard with oranges in cinnamon syrup.

A meal that leaves you grinning wider than a coat hanger and making a beeline for a comfortable Chesterfield, with a glass of plum brandy in one hand.

I’m made a beef and ale stew a few weeks ago, had it with dumplings, veg and boiled potatoes. It was bloody good

The following night I had the leftover stew in a giant Yorkshire pudding (homemade too)
