From the land of haribos.

I always do that and in my house we have an elevator and when I meet people there or at other places elevators. I say hi and then goodbye, sometimes it leads to small talk which is always fun, it is nice to be nice as the saying goes

"I take the stairs. "

I'd love to, but cannot.

Yes, I speak to people in the lift, usually to ask "which floor" because I end up sat near the buttons.

I usually start the conversation with something about the plot of the final destination films.

Why does everyone in an elevator all face the same way?

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

So you purposely put nervous or previously traumatised people in the position of feeling that they are now potentially trapped in a lift with a weirdo? Maybe say hello to people you are passing on the street if you want, when there are other people around, but in a lift? nope!

No, british people need to embrace silence more. This need to fill a 1 minute silence annoys me

I'll have a full blown conversation with someone in the 10 seconds it takes to get to my floor.
