Are there many here?

Been riding for a number of years, but also love the look and feel when in my best ariat boots and white breeches...

Anyone else like mixing Thier pleasure with pleasure?

I’ve never had sex in my breeches if truth be told, but I ride a couple of times a week, nothing serious, I look a bit of a plonker on a horse and that’s a fact but there is a joy to riding wild across the moor.

Yep... The actual unconditional bond of trust with the horse and the exhilaration of being out there roaming about is fabulous, only one thing can beat it..

Somewhere in Co. Down

I've horses and worked with them for years as well .But no I can't say I have ever thought anything sexy about the gear. Mind you I rarely if ever rode out in white Jodhpur's anyhow. They get dirty too easy and are impractical if you are actually working about the yard

Yeah.. the ex used to run a livery yard so rode a lot back then... White jhods were for proper turnout on certain occasions... But I've worn them and boots to the club a few times... Get the talking started...

Good question... In my experience ladies see it more as the horse connection rather than what's around them (or they don't admit the sexy bit) but there's many more ladies with the hobby than men, I regularly ride with a group where 10 to 15 % are male..

I just really like the earthy, grounded ladies that are equestrian, discounting the dressage divas of course...

Thanks. It's curious that the gender split varies in other countries. I used to live in Spain where riding was quite a macho world and it was rare to see Spanish women taking part.

I only really know Andalucia where there are quite a few companies mixing forest and beach riding near the coast. Best are on Costa de la Luz where its less developed and a little cooler. Still many long unspoilt beaches that riders can use.

Have you thought about going to your local Riding for the Disabled centre? Firstly, you might be able to ride (gently) in a controlled environment but you would definitely be able to participate in grooming and other activities on the ground. I thought I'd never ride again but am riding weekly.

It’s been too many years since I was last on a horse, but I can ride. It’s difficult to find horses large enough to carry someone my size. I always feel a bit guilty sitting on anything under 18hh.

I completely concur with the posts above about it being a pastime more popular with women than with men. I used to love the reactions I’d get at the yard when people finally realised I was there to ride myself, and not to support or pick up my wife / girlfriend / daughter or whatever.

Definitely no pleasure in the ratty stables

Used to ride in my youth, then as the weight crept up the I had to move onto shires in my mid 20's, stopped riding when I became pregnant and haven't picked it back up again

Nowadays I just handle the mental ponies and their foals from the ground

Most UK horse owners are far from posh.

There's a great meme showing the stereotype of what men think equestrians look like (leggy, slim, tight johds, boots, riding crop and looking ready for sex rather than riding) vs what they really do (frumpy, wearing shit covered jeans, a hay covered jumper and looking like they fell in a ditch).

It's scarily accurate.

That said. If you're lucky enough to bag an equestrian lady just be aware that their thighs can control a half ton animal. You are no challenge at all.......

I've fallen off an 18hh. I landed well, rolled, and got straight back on again. Someone pointed out that it was a long way down; I honestly replied that I don't have any smaller falls to compare it to.

I can comfortably mount horses that size from the ground. Most of my experience is with Percherons, but I'd love to try some other heavy horses. I love how solid and steady they feel.

Honestly, at your size, anything smaller than 18h would probably look 'top heavy' whereas for me, at 17h, I'm already getting a little 'wide', not just high. The push off to mount definitely requires more energy and on a cold day, my toes toes really feel the impact of the dismount from a 17h.
