Are you doing your best?

Currently recycle crisp packets,batteries,anything that can go in a blue bin,and the latest addition is those bags that on the back say recycle with bags at local supermarket. Always put them in the kitchen bin before.

I recycle most things. But I don't use that terracycle system where you post stuff to be recycled, and I don't save up blister packs from tablets as we hardly ever use any, and it seems a lot of trouble for not very much. I have been having clear outs and really like the fabric recycling bin in H&M. I think they have one in Primark now as well. It makes me feel less guilty about getting rid of things

The 43.8% recycling rate is for 'waste from households', which is the official recycling measure used as the basis for reporting at a harmonised UK level.

however that number is incorrect as the number is much lower as a good chunk of that number is sent abroad to be recycled instead its burnt off or children search through it to earn a wage.

I recycle everything my local council allows . Plus if not allowed in refuse bins. Take to tip . Try to recycle there. They have various areas there for working , can be used again items.

Yes we are doing our best. We recycle as much as is possible and practical. We never buy new if we can by second hand and if we're making something we try to reuse items we already own.

We have a recycling system at home yes.

We have approximately 13 bins around the house, of which 5 or so are master bins. They are in a specialised area. We have satellite bins that duplicate the master bins in other areas. This is to save hassle walking around the house to get to the bin store for plastic, when there's a satellite bin for plastic in the room you are in, for example.

As for clothing, we wear until it's unrepairable. Clothes come back online depending on our changing waistlines. I've got some bits that should fit again come May next year. So we try to resuse than buy new again. Haven't needed to shop for clothes for over 3 years now (apart from smalls ofc !)

Nope just us. I just find the dynamics of having what you need at hand more convenient that having to go hunting for it elsewhere. And it makes the final weekly roundup a breeze.
