"Weird shit always happens during a full moon. "

I have friends who are police officers and they always say when there's a full moon they know they re in for a very busy hectic shift. It's actually pretty well accepted the moon as that's where the term lunacy comes from.

I'm fairly certain there's quite a lot of research out there which supports an upswing in psychiatric disorders during a full moon.

And I also believe it's nothing to do with superstition, and everything to do with science.

The gravity of Sol is always pulling on Earth from the direction opposite to the sunlit side of the moon. The Sun has its own tidal effect on the Earth. And we all know the Moon does too.

However when the Moon is Full, its tidal forces are pulling counter to Sol's. When the moon is New, it's tidal forces pull mostly with Sol's.

Essentially the Moon and Sol's tidal forces reinforce or fight each other and during a Full Moon these effects are felt most acutely on the Earth, and affect all animate and inanimate objects.

The gravitational pull difference between the new Moon and the full Moon varies from 13% on average to as much as 30% on some occasions.

I like this romantic notion.

I also like that this is an excuse for any chaotic crazy energy I'm bringing to my friends right now. So thanks moon, you're a good scapegoat.

I would say if the full moon is visibly out lighting up the sky much more a Cresent moon, that it could have an uplifting effect. So therefore I conclude yes to the OPs question.

Yep, definitely affects some people - my friend used to work in what used to be called a mental hospital & it was carnage over a full moon period.

Also - i'm sure I read somewhere that there are more murders over a full moon too....
