This morning I found the energy, and the courage, to write that message and actually send it. I don’t often manage that, so it’s a cause for a small celebration. It may not work out, but I’m still a little proud of myself for actually doing the thing.

So, yeah. Shoot your shot. Even if the odds are against you, they’re better than if you never tried at all.

Delete it.

Forget about it.

If you get a reply you get a reply, if you don’t you don’t.

Or..

Just send an easy, generic copy and paste one to save you needing energy in the first place to write one.

Oh, and add a dick pic, obviously.

Then if they don't reply just tell yourself they’re not worthy of your dick anyway and you only messaged them out of desperation.

Thank you all for the good wishes!

To clarify, I have sent messages in the past. I just don’t do it very often. It takes a quantity of energy I frequently don’t have.

Read and digest the profile. Put their key word in the message title. Take and upload a new face picture, and wait for it to be approved.

Carefully draft a message that *shows* I’ve read and digested their profile. Say something I like about them. Highlight something about me they might have a use for.

Try to give the message some substance, but don’t make it TLDR. Sound interested, but not obsessed. Indicate attraction, but don’t come across like I’m typing one handed.

Proofread the message. Go off and do something else for a bit, then come back and proofread it again with fresh eyes. Then try to remember to actually attach that new face picture I uploaded earlier.

Then, and only then, hit send.

I gather there are people who spam out message after message. I don’t know how they find the energy. Do they not have jobs, hobbies, life admin?

I don’t mind a message getting deleted, or read and ignored. That’s just a safe way for them to let me know I’m not for them. That’s completely fine!

I confess I do dislike a message going unread. It suggests I just got drowned out by a million and one FAF one-liners. All that effort I put in going unseen is way more dispiriting than rejection.

True, nobody on here is out of our league, but doesn’t mean they will reply or even read your message, other factors like timing and what’s going on in their lives affect it. Ignoring the realities of fab isn’t wise

I shot my shot, and it was read and ignored. This, though, is a success – the recipient actually saw it!

I have just about recovered from the effort it took to compose and send that message. I think I'm going to try to send another one today.

I always show My fun side in messages by attaching a photocopy pic of my arse… if they look closely they can see a little bit if loo roll stuck deep in the crack - shows im not obsessive - which is good i think!!

Youdont need to do this. You can add a photo direct from your phone. It needs no approval from the mods at all
