"Does anyone know anything about this stuff an ways to calm the mind "

I used to meditate in my 20s after learning some techniques , it was a really long hard journey

Try sitting or laying down in a position you feel very relaxed , sitting us better. Breathe slowly and more deeply than normal , try to breath from your abdomen not upper chest.

Try to let go of any thoughts and focus on the breathing in and out. Particularly put your focus on the feeling of the air as you inhale through your nose.

When you realise your mind has wandered off thinking about something, just smile to yourself, let the thought train go and come back to breathing.

Try to have no opinion on the fact that your mind wandered off , don't be angry or frustrated just keep letting it go each time you become aware of it, and coming back.

This is not meditation but meditation training and it might help you relax

If this is too hard for a very active mind, or you want to try a more active meditation/breathing exercise have a look into Qigong.

There is something called 5-strands of silk, 5 very very simple standing breathing/meditation moves. I practice them most days first thing , ideally during sunrise for clarity and focus.

1- lift the rock

2- separate heaven and earth

3-move the energy ball

4- archer draws the bow

5- lift water from the stream

There’s an app called Insight timer which has lots of guided meditations or music.

If you struggle with sitting meditation, try a moving meditation such as qi gong or bio energetic meditation. Qi gong is widely available on YouTube, or there are classes.

There are also lots of breathwork videos on YouTube which will help calm your mind/brain.

Eckhart Tolle likes to reminds us that simply being fully conscious of even a single breath brings you into the present. I have found this statement to be quite true.

Are you looking to really get in to meditation, or just looking for an easy way to clear your mind for 5 minutes.

It might sound mad but a game on a phone you realy have to concentrate on helps be clear my mind as the only think of the game.

But reading is also help Full get in to a good book.

Don't know if it's meditation but helps to clear some of the day to day stuff out of the mind..

surrounded by twinkly lights

Personally I repower with Tai chi yoga. We embrace our movements on the beach and push negativity and pull positivity with the waves flow

Hope you enjoy
