Always had a theory that the vast majority of men are wired to be bisexuality but most of them have a preference for women.

My argument for this is that given the right circumstances or lack of women they will fuck a bloke or at least let them suck them off.

Examples including glory holes, long prison sentences and the 1st and second world War where the army had to put bromide in the soldiers tea to stop them getting "urges"

Obviously as soon as there is pussy available again the guy will revert to his preferred sex.

I'm not sure I'd label it bisexual, and I think the percentage of men that can't control their urges would be less than those that can, but what you say isn't without merit either.

From just my own personal observations on here. I've found a rather high number of 'straight' guys, who as the conversation progresses do own up to being open to playing with 'convincing/passable CDs'. A friend and I have a theory there's a lot of fellas like the cock more than they let on

Your examples of 'given the right circumstances' are quite curious.

You'll never know who is on the other side of a gloryhole so it's not really a conscious decision. Nor may you ever know.

Prison is obviously different and I'm pretty sure the war references had fuck all to do with men shagging men and we're more to do with the top brass not wanting servicemen incapacitated due to STD's caught from prostitution.

Is it the new normal? I don't think so.

It's possibly more acceptable (just) in swinging circles but still frowned upon by normal society and bar celebs I'm pretty sure most people will know more openly gay people than bi.

Of course some men will fuck any hole and be happy with a BJ/wank from another guy if they can't get a woman. But I'd guess they're in a minority.

I saw some stats recently - percentages of people who would describe themselves as gay/bi/lesbian etc & the numbers were remarkably low - small single figures. Of course there are cultural influences at play that would push the numbers down. But I do think that more men would happily have sex with men than is reflected in those stats or is generally thought. But still I think the percentages are quite low. I'm bisexual, by the way. And anyway, I'm sure that sexuality is way more complicated than just dividing people up into arbitrary groups.

Is it possibly not the case that there is more readily information available and the number of men/women who performed sexually with the same sex was rife in the Roman days onwards.

With the stigma that was attached and labeling through the years some have hidden their preferences.

Now there is a more liberal and accepting society it's possibly more common to hear but just as relevant as it's always been outside of publicly spoken media.

Although the sample size on this site would tend to give a higher than average skew of "bisexual" individuals.
