OP...our number one way of deciding who's who they say they are is looking through verifications, and verifications of verifications...so because your verifications aren't showing we'd treat you as fake/suspicious until you either showed us a verification that we trusted or we had an in person call with you...long winded, but we'd get to that within a couple of messages...and if it turns out to be fake, we'd treat it like a trip to the zoo

It certainly depends upon your definition of fake and the amount / quality of the interactions that you have with people.

We respond to or message people that fit in with our desires and don’t have any red flags.

Our experience then is discovering far less than your 80% “fakes”.

Are you using a scattergun approach or ignoring those red flags perhaps?

OP if you think all these profiles are fake, then seeing as few others appear to encounter them 80% of the time (your own statistic) then why are they all being drawn to you?

The odd one or two attempt to dupe would be expected. But they're easy to spot generally and with a couple of simple procedures avoid prolonged contact with.

Like anything on Fab. If something happens frequently then you need to review what you're doing. Because there's only one common denominator......

We tend to meet in clubs as they are defo real people then.

We've had messages from 'couples' who are very much a single man, they get pretty easy to spot.

But, we've been called fake by people because we don't want to meet them!! We are defo not fake, but we are picky and think our profile makes it pretty clear that we don't meet with anyone who messages lol.

Veris are always a good place to start, but we've been called out as fake on that too as we choose to only display a few recent ones, it's like some people are trying to prove that we are fake even when we are not lol!

With anything you gotta read between the lines a bit, but I think the proper fake profiles are pretty easy to spot and head straight to our block list x

Getting worked up about fakes is a waste of time. There are fakes that stand out a mile and there will be fakes that a difficult to spot.

Fakes aside the biggest problem on this site is people's expectations

We have not been here long but the number of people who think sending a couple of messages is enough to make you want to meet them is actually hilarious.

Wether they want to meet for real or not - quite simply put none of them interest us. We know why we are here and we know what we want out of the site and thats all that matter. Messages are dealt with by either a polite no thanks or an ignore delete.

It seems a bit OTT to say this site is "out of control".

And im at a loss how you attract or find so many fakes!!!

Ive been on sex and fetish sites since 2006. And also vanilla dating sites.

Its no different on any of them (althoughi admit some are worse than others).

Some fakes, some spam, some time wasters, some photo collectors, some keyboard w*****s. Its an unfortunate reality of online dating/meeting sites.

I think a lot of people would agree the number of fakes/time wasters/fantasists increased during lockdown.

But from what ive seen, genuine outnumber the wasters.

More worrying is well verified people ( not just one or two Veris) using others’s face pictures in private messages.

A women I chatted to informed me of this.

When contacting Admin I have very evasive answers to what they’ve done etc. have they blocked the guy, how can he be prevented to set up a new account and do the same.

As much as this site is great to connect people, there is nothing in place or seem to be genuine concern how for Fab to improve their process and protect genuine members

I think some profiles attract the fakes.

Having a tight body means lots of men want to wank over you, while you chat to them.

The women here to drum up business should be reported.

You'll get women looking for an ego boost too, and some who have good intentions but lose interest for no fault of yours.

I've never had a problem with fake profiles. I avoid the new ones with a great pic, and suspiciously generic, short bios. Generally most of my interactions and meets have come as a result of forum activity, which further reduces the chance of them being fake. Not trying to insult you OP, but if you're encountering so many "fake" profiles (I'm still not sure what the definition of this is), then possibly you need to change your tactics?

It is hard on this site when everyone (understandably!) wants discretion. I've chatted to someone who was verified and I'm not even sure she was really real. Plays with your mind haha!

It's hard to know for sure until you jump on Kik and do a live cam selfie or something (I do rate Kik for that but even then, bots can send fake cam pictures)

Exactly as above, makes it tough for newbies but socials & clubs are great ways to get verified

we also have an enormous block list from unsolicited friends invites (picture collectors!)

tbh its negative things like this that are shared publicly for everyone to see, really grates, and ill tell you why, there will be a high percentage of People that will read something like this ands instantly believe it to be facts, which means by reading this they have now got doubts in fab and probably wont come back to explore their sexual desires, kinks etc,

its like all the negative things people say about single men on here, just because a handful of people have given other members a bad experience, all of a sudden every single man is tarnished with the same brush, just because someone is single it doesn't mean they dont have sexual interests they want to explore I.e swinging,3sums etc etc.

so basically the hugely public negativity is effectively ruining somebody else's experience with broadening their interests.

what makes your frustration more important than someone elses fab experience ?

What do you see as particularly negative about the post you quoted? Don't we all use filters of some sort? I know I do most of the above by ignoring unverified women and couples because of negative experiences and blocking people who send unsolicited friend requests. I also block people I've never engaged with because we have nothing in common and I don't want them showing in my local updates.

The verification trail is a great way to filter out others and avoid them because of the associated drama.

All of that leaves for a much more enjoyable experience and means I'm only tarnishing those that deserve it in my personal opinion.

The 'all single men' tarnishing you claim doesn't exist. It's an urban myth that single men use to rationalise why they're unsuccessful on fab.

Nobody's behaviour affects tou and what you do on here doesn't affect anyone else.

People aren't dumb enough to think all men are the same, nor single women or couples. People are individuals.

The good stand out.

May be fair to say 80% of the people approaching the OP may well be "fake"/fantasists. Some couples are a wild goose chase, and not always easy to tell or find out without getting entangled in the conversation that reveals it.
