"Ok this is a true story from another site where we still have friends. A popular couple married for over 10 years and who had many friends on that site, decided to split up. It was instigated by the male half and she was devastated and dropped out of the scene altogether. He continued as a single male, so my question is this ... If you as a single girl or part of a couple, had been friends with both, could you then play with the guy as a single? would you feel guilty? would you not bat an eyelid? .... no judgements from me/us just interested to know opinions xxx" I Couldn't if I'd been friends with them as a couple. Not judging either at all .. just wouldn't feel 'right' somehow.

"It's nice to see a little sympathy from the guys ... again I'm not judging, but when you know someone quite well and know that she is still feeling the pain of the breakup, it's beyond me how insensitive some can be ... was that judging? " Yes that was judging, and also directing the thread, people will now know what to answer. ................ On a serious note, if I knew them quite well, regardless of who instigated the break up, regardless of which one wanted to play, I couldn't do it. not through taking sides, which with all due respect you appear to be doing (I'm not judging ), but quite the opposite, to not take sides.

Oddly enough it's not a case of taking sides. I just think it's insensitive it that particular instance ... and stop grinning at me with that avatar

"ah, here's a question, if the lady decided she wanted to play, would you?. " If the guy was in her position then no. If it was an amicable split and they both decided to play and were comfortable, probably

We wouldn't, not with either sex. Partly as we rarely see singles anyway, partly as if we were friends with both would feel weird...
