used to be a member of the national trust for many years and found it to be exceptional value for money as there were many places you could visit locally. Since moving to Bristol we have not renewed our membership but were amazed to find that the going rate to visit a local national trust site was £19 pound per person .. does this seem slightly excessive to anyone else ??

Is it cheaper if you're a member? Does seem expensive.

Northwood

I guess it does come as a bit of a shock but compared to WAY overpriced attractions such as theme parks it seems reasonable. especially when you factor in that the money pays for the upkeep of Britain's national treasures and the staff who work there.

Bargain I'd say.

AND The national Trust has concessions where many other places are not.

I can get in free when I go with my disabled husband. Take that LegoLand!

"Members don't pay entrance or parking fees."
I imagine a couple of visits a year would cover membership fees then.
