I was dining out yesterday and one of the puds came with 24 carat gold leaf. Ostentatious probably but eating it can't be good for you can it?

You have gold in your body naturally anyway, it won’t do you any harm just passes straight through

I always used to wonder how Goldschlager wasn't damaging to your insides too, but apparently gold is totally safe to consume.

It seems totally pointless if it passes straight through you. I would rather peel it off my pud and stick it in my purse before eating rather than dig around in the alternative

I'm sure it won't do you any harm, but also sure it won't have been on there for the taste.

But if it just looked pretty, that's fine too - we all need a bit of frivolity sometimes!

Have you been poking it into a prospectors blasting hole mistaking it for a glory hole?

I'd rather have an extra glug or two of custard on my pudding.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's not possible because there's no vegan ice cream left.

There are those that advocate eating gold will help you. I don't see how. Not all edible gold leaf is really gold. I don't know how you tell when it's a little sliver or dusting on your pud.

In terms of biological processes, gold is considered chemically inert. So chomp away!
