I’ve read a couple of threads recently about people having bad experiences on fab. Other fabbers often say to inform the police.

I wondered if anyone ever had spoken to the police and what the attitude was?

Something happened to me a while back and I didn’t go to the police because I didn’t want to have to explain fab and I felt they’d think it was my fault for behaving in a “high risk” way meeting people from the internet.

Anyone ever had to explain fab?

Separately, I had the police call me about a man I’d sexted with from a dating app. He’d been asking women for money to delete the videos (I never sent videos with my face in despite his numerous requests). They had his phone and my photos. That was bad enough. Very very awkward silence on the phone when the officer told me they’d been through his messages!

Hugs never feel like it’s your fault it’s not

Don’t be inbarrest to go to them as that’s what people like that pry on they banking on people not wanting stuff out there

Only way to stop them is come forward

And the people who criticise you for it aren’t worth a damm

Cheshire

If you contact 101 non emergency number you can get advice over any perceived or actual criminal act. Unfortunately you’ll never be able to pick the person you’ll talk with.

I had to contact the Police a long time ago, over something that happened whilst I was crossdressed. Due to the complaint I was making I had to tell them about what I was wearing and how the incident happened. The Police were great, as it was in Manchester my incident wasn’t unusual so they were respectful and dealt with it as best as they could.

I suppose the Police in a City will deal with more unusual or crimes against minorities than in a more rural setting.

However that number is for advice as well as reporting so I always suggest you use it.

I've had to call them about an issue I was having. Mainly related to things away from this site, but some of it had spilled over to Fab so the website did come up.

They were so non-judgemental, they are aware of this site but I didn't feel they were taking my problem less seriously because I am on here.

Actually getting a successful outcome from reporting harassment is very difficult.

At best the behaviour is logged until it becomes more extreme, requiring legal intervention, judiciary or otherwise.

It's deeply unpleasant, unfortunate and unnecessary.

Those that do should find the nearest cliff and check if the bottom is soft enough for landing on.

Interesting points of view. Really appreciate you sharing. In the incident I should probably have reported it was a crime. But I didn’t want to face judgement from police nor end up having family and friends finding out what happened.

We live and learn.
