For people to be properly pissed already?! Or am I just old? I've just pushed through the city centre, nearly KO'd several times on potholes but the biggest obstacle? Pissed, staggering people. It was before 8pm! And as I did my ablutions in the special loo a few moments ago, I could hear a situation unfolding in the ladies, where a gal was already so sloshed that she was pulling everywhere and banged her head.

I expected to dodge the d*unks after the film, but not before

Many happy hours start early now. Finish work, get bladdered and get home before 11pm seems to be a trend nowadays

I'm definitely old then

In my day, we didn't even go out till about 9pm, club before 11 when it was cheaper and not home till 3 or 4am!

I was the same. Used to get the taxi home and the roads were packed with people going home. Now It's rare to see another car driving home after a night out on my way back and that's 12.30/1am on a Saturday night

I'm going to sound really old now but when we were younger and going to clubs etc there would probably be one properly d*unk person per night. The rest of us might be a bit merry but never staggering or vomiting.

stress? working all hour to pay for rent/mortgage that you can't afford. Being d*unk means you won't need the heating or the lights on when you get home. Being d*unk means you can forget that you work 60 hours for minimum wage and still can't afford to turn the heating on and universal credit suspended your payment for 4 weeks due to their own error.

I volunteered for the CAB...listened to many working people in distress. Even had some junior doctors ring up due to a dodgy landlord. Imagine working 36 hours straight and you still can't go home and have a shower and sleep in your own bed.
