I read yesterday that it was a hoax. He made a statement that he was still alive!

Has he died since?

.

MrWho.

Lots of news sites reporting that he has died.

RIP. All the controversy is over now, and we have the music.

Is it true that Gerry Lee Lewis actually married his 13 year old first cousin; he should have famiarised himself with the tenets of consanguinity: of being descended from the same ancestor, which is unwise in human reproductive terms.

They divorced in the '70s.

I was wrong, the controversy continues.

One of the giants. An amazing age given the life he led.

Jerry Lee Lewis’s wife of 13 years is said to be devastated by his death.

There has as yet been no comment from his older wives.

I was talking about him just the other day, whatever he did in his private life, he made some solid music and was one of the last of the rock and roll era x

Sad news.

He was the epitome of a rock ‘n’ roller.

One of the last from that era.

Remember the story of him breaking into Graceland with a gun.

Jerry Lee Lewis was many things.

MANY.

But at the end of the day, he was a musical legend.

My favourite band The Cramps were in a recording studio in Memphis during the early 80s, and they noticed a load of small holes in the ceiling. Wondering what they were, the owner told them:

"Oh, that's when Jerry Lee Lewis was in here one day, got angry, pulled out a gun and shot the place up..."

In my eyes Jerry Lee was the real king of rock n roll who no one could control.
