So ... after working a total of 17 years in the Food & Beverage/customer service line of work ... ive finally hung up my apron and made my last flat white with a Trucking job lined up.

Be lying if i said i wasn't anxious about leaving what i know, but looking forward to a new chapter.

Anyone else made or planning to make big career changes? Any tips on balancing these feelings of anxiety and excitememt?

We’ve both taken new career paths recently and so far it’s worked out brilliantly.

Everyone gets those feelings of anxiety when stepping out of their comfort zone.

Try not to worry and enjoy the feelings as it’s all part of the life experience.

Definitely left on my own terms. Left them looking for a store manager 1 week before xmas launch! Lol

Congratulations, OP. Making a decision to leave is one thing, but acting on it is where the adventure starts.

I have done it several times, but the change I'm about to make is probably the biggest and most extreme.

I know i'm probably being daft. But it's just nice to know it's normal to feel like this.

You know what to expect, more or less, within the same industry. You draw on your experience and skills.

Changing fields means you have to learn something new, and show you can adapt to the new language and way of doing things. It's a challenge but life affirming. Enjoy stretching yourself and remember it's OK to feel apprehensive.

I went from office work to something a lot more creative and it was such an easy transition, good luck
