Eddy's NOT on an all-female shortlist, if you are talking about the parliamentary selection for Labour.

We know she isn't but should she be.

It's such an interesting thought. If we deny her a place on a womans list... should she be denied a place on a mans list..... have we got to have a trans list a gender fluid list..... etc etc ....

I'm still trying to think of reasons to deny her a place on a woman's list... other than some would argue she's not a woman and i'm having trouble coming up with decent reasons........ anyone can come up with spurious laughable reasons.

Eddie Izzard is not a woman.

That's a compelling enough a reason for me.

I like the idea of being able to pick and choose which days youre a man or a woman. There could be advantages to that. When he's identifying as a she... Does he dress as a she or is it only... I feel like a woman (as Shania would say) and everyone else has to guess? I'm intrigued how the practicalities of that might work.

This is a debate about something that's not even happened.

It's manufactured outrage and does no one who raises it any credit.

That's the only reason I can think people would give. Which is why I said 'list dependent' .......

I look forward to a time when we've moved on enough to have 'lists' and not segregations.

It's not like it's a best vagina list.

People running the country should be selected on suitability.....

I recognise the need for positive discrimination in the past but surely not for ever.

In my head it's not about Eddie Izzard. It's about wider issues that affect us all.

I know he's not on a womans list. That doesn't close the stable door on the discussion and nor should it.

Surely they would be on a list for a specific reason so perhaps it should be based on their identity at the time of that specific act.

It's the person we should be looking at and measuring really.

If someone commits a heinous crime.... they are who they are - they did what they did - the person did it.

It's a fallacy to imagine that any behaviours that appear to be gender specific are in reality culturally developed for all of us conformists....

Gender is so irrelevant in so many instances

Nope, OP loves to stir the pot when it comes to news about trans people. He knows exactly how people will react and still posts threads like this. Never encourages kindness, just drops the thread and runs under the guise of "I was only asking a question"

Worth reflecting on why you apparently can't.

"Should it be allowed?"

Izzard has stated she will not stand on any all-women shortlist as currently she does not identify as a full time woman.

Under the circumstance of some other hypothetical trans person taking part in politics or any other sector of life, then if they live full time as a woman there is no reason why they should not stand on an all-women shortlist. If they should subsequently alter their gender identification and/or gender performivity, then it would be legitimate for the party and/or other persons on that shortlist to inquire whether the placement is still appropriate (but not in my view to automatically replace the person). However any situation of a cis-woman standing on such a shortlist, then subsequently transitioning to become trans-male, should be treated in exactly the same way.

Ideally though, in a fair society, there ought to be no necessity for pre-selecting candidates for any type of position according to any minority characteristic. Having selection processes where the selectors have no knowledge of, and no need to have knowledge of, the candidates gender, race etc merely their ability to perform the role as necessary, would be much better.

How do you know she's not in girl mode? She refers to herself as she, and says that she prefers to be referred to as she by other people. She says she doesn't mind if someone gets them wrong, but overall wants to use she/her.

You don't need to put pronouns in quotation marks. So no cis person has ever been cast as someone of the opposite gender by your logic? No cis person has ever been cast as a trans person?

I think we shouldn't have quite so little faith in the British public. Trans MPs and councillors are getting voted in without hiding their birth gender, which is good to see that people aren't always being blinded by hatred towards trans people and concentrating on what they can do for the community.

Izzard has presented as female and used the she/her pronouns for well over two years, she is a trans woman. But unlike some doesn't get hung up if some say he by mistake or are not sure what to say as it can be confusing if you dont know, he openly has stated this in interviews

Yes because intent changes the situation. Most trans people I know, including myself, don't care if someone misgenders them if it's a genuine mistake. If it is intentional then there is a big difference. People that do know her pronouns and refuse to use them is where the issue lies.

To reply to that would take a long message deviating on and off topic to fully understand it, it goes bigger than thinking you can choose your sex. As much as I would like to have a mature debate. I’m sure my comments would be seen are “far right” and I do not have time to reply to everyone who would say I’m discriminating or narrow minded. It’s not a topic I’m passionate about but it’s my view and opinion, the irony is if we did discuss this further on here I would be slated and my view and opinion would be wrong, but yet I would have to accept the other people’s views and opinions.

"What is "girl mode"?"

I guess u could say it’s when a guy dolls himself up to look like a gurl - which seems to get other guys dicks hard and make them want to fuck the guy in disguise...!

Prime example, can look passable and yes plenty guys incl. straight, married, etc. have enjoyed ducking their big dicks inside my holes & enjoyed themselves very much to make them want to cum back for more (& many of them do).

Is why some women don’t like us guys in gurl mode very much, esp. those who’s man enjoys fucking gurls like me more than they do their female partners.

"Word it how you like. It’s not an optional thing you are as you are.

Thanks for clearing that up

Out of interest why would it bother you how somebody else wishes to be seen?

Because what people wish is not relevant. I can wish to live on the moon. Ain’t going to happen is it.

How are the 2 remotely comparable?

How are they not. "

"Is he/she allowed in ladies toilets?

What is he/she ? It’s only he or she and they have separate toilets

Well sometimes he is he and sometimes he chooses to be a she...!

So when he decides he wants to be a she, should he be allowed in ladies toilet?

It’s not an optional thing. It’s not something you choose "

Beg to differ, it’s not that simple or is it...!?

A TV/TG who could easily pass as a female would probably be more welcum in a ladies toilet than she would in a gents!?

I can’t picture being all dolled up standing in high heels next to a guy in gents at the urinals.

Would be easier to use ladies toilets and no one would suspect anything...!?

Yes complex subject matter...!

I on the other hand couldn’t care less, be it TV, TG, CD, lesbian, gay, straight, etc. It’s only labels & it’s all good.

Simple solution is unisex toilets...!

You'd hope not surely. But theres another complexity.

I find this weird too. Why do we even need separate toilets?

In France I'm free to piss in full view of anyone. Seems to work fine.

What is it that necessitates separate spaces?"

I know this is a special site but why would you want to piss in full view of anyone?

How can you beg to differ. It is simple. You are born either male or female and take away the tiny percentage cases you will argue. So if you are a male you use the gents if you are female you use the ladies.

I'd say that irrational hatred of people you've never met, because of the clothes they wear, and your speculation about what their genitals might look like (no, we aren't ever going to show them to you) is a mental illness.

It's not that simple, gender dysphoria has been around for many many years it's only because we have a more open view in society that people don't need to hide away in shame through fear of the bigots and the actions that would be taken against them

Yep great one, and this is the standard. Who said I hated any people? Don’t recall saying that. I do recall saying it’s my view and opinion and I’m not that passionate about the topic. I don’t run around with a pitch fork or set up protests. I treat people based on how they treat me. I have no hatred to anyone but it’s my opinion. Also not saying my opinion is right but for me with the information, I have researched, my feelings on the topic it is. I’m not so obsessed or naive to think mine must be right, everyone has an opinion on it some the same some different.

Your speculation of me apparently judging people on their genitals, I guess could be a mental illness for you then.

In an ideal World without bigots, etc. Yes I agree, it is simple. However, we do not live in an ideal World.

Do some research to see the legal discourse

and you will see it’s far from simple.

"What is "girl mode"?

I guess u could say it’s when a guy dolls himself up to look like a gurl - which seems to get other guys dicks hard and make them want to fuck the guy in disguise...!

Prime example, can look passable and yes plenty guys incl. straight, married, etc. have enjoyed ducking their big dicks inside my holes & enjoyed themselves very much to make them want to cum back for more (& many of them do).

Is why some women don’t like us guys in gurl mode very much, esp. those who’s man enjoys fucking gurls like me more than they do their female partners."

So "girl mode" is when a man wears stereotypically feminine clothes to emulate a sexualised woman's persona?

And women don't like this because the only thing we care about in life is how fuckable we are?

What a very ignorant male perspective.

Ceiling to floor compartments would solve it yes I totally agree. But realistically gents bathrooms also tend to contain urinals? I'm not sure how effective that would be in unisex toilets? My local swimming baths has unisex changing areas/unisex showers. I've zero issues with either. In fact the only time I've seen anything expressed was in my other local baths where they have seperate sex changing rooms, and they put up a sign in the ladies showers asking folk to leave their swimming costumes on

I used several unisex toilets in the summer in which there were urinals and also cubicles. Women just walked past the urinals. Didn't appear to bother anyone.

Possibly the culture is different and people don't consider penises as weapons/dirty/perverted etc. etc.

They’re your words not mine. My opinion was more associated with ladies having an issue with their life long partners who seem to stray & enjoy fucking CD’s etc. More to do with jealousy than you making it out to be males seeing women simply as fuckdoll fucktoys.

In truth, I’ve more respect for ladies than men but you’ll not believe me so needn’t waste my time trying to convince u or anybody else for that matter.

You’re both making this out to be something it’s not by distorting what has been said, it’s nothing to do with change in persona etc. but the opinion is more related to do with why women are jealous of their male counterpart enjoying sex with CD’s etc. more than their partners. Is fact, because I’ve been with a good few couples and had great times but have also been invited by couples to only find the male there who has enjoyed fucking me very much and left me lovely verifications which I then had to later remove on request because their female partner got jealous - even had the male apologise to me with them saying “women”.

Please don’t make this out to be something it’s not and maybe try andwering question why most women don’t like us CD’s, TV/TG, or whatever the fuck label you want to give it.

I’ve no time for labels and have respect for as I see a human being not male, female, trans. etc.

It’s all good.

This is pretty informative: https://fairplayforwomen.com/transgender-male-criminality-sex-offences/

https://www.tumblr.com/theysaythisneverhappens

Offending at the same rate as "cis" men is precisely the problem. We have segregated spaces from men because so many women are ra ped or assaulted by men. Yet if they claim to be women we're meant to happily give up those protections in case someone's feelings are hurt? Fuck that. I know how it feels to have my body violated and if I have to speak the unpalatable truth and put up with being called a bigot or a terf to stop another woman knowing that pain then I'm going to do it.

You're just showing yourself up for the misogynist you are. It is vanishingly rare for women to lie about being abused. Do you have any idea how we're treated when we speak out? It isn't flowers and hugs and sympathy. Far from it. Nobody puts themselves through that hell just for clout.

Nobody said "cis men transition to attack women". But lots of men who transition for other reasons do attack women.

This isn't me making up crap to support my argument, it's real and it's very easy to find stories and statistics if you actually look.

Can you point me in the direction of where to find those stats?

I looked but what I found concluded offending rates were no different to the general male population.

Obviously that in itself is too high but interested to know more.

This is pretty informative: https://fairplayforwomen.com/transgender-male-criminality-sex-offences/

https://www.tumblr.com/theysaythisneverhappens

Offending at the same rate as "cis" men is precisely the problem. We have segregated spaces from men because so many women are ra ped or assaulted by men. Yet if they claim to be women we're meant to happily give up those protections in case someone's feelings are hurt? Fuck that. I know how it feels to have my body violated and if I have to speak the unpalatable truth and put up with being called a bigot or a terf to stop another woman knowing that pain then I'm going to do it."

I’m sorry to hear you know what it’s like, no one should put up with that and the penalty should be severe. No means no. I’ve been fortunate to have never cum across anyone so displeasing & admit all the CD, TG/TV, etc. I know & have met are the loveliest peeps I’ve met and would never harm anyone. Most of us on here are simply here to have NSA discreet fun. We are not here to cause a rift & certainly not here to be a distraction to married couples. In truth, we prefer not to meet married men if they are going behind their partners back.

We can but agree to disagree. However, a misogynist I am not. I luv and have utmost respect for women. Thank you.

I agree that offending at the same rate is problematic (if that is the case). I'd have assumed it would be much lower.

I don't agree it justifies a need for single sex spaces. Neither do I think it's useful to have a culture which insinuates all men are potential predators.

Yeah I've noticed there's some quite nasty bullying happening. It's a shame that genuine interesting debates can't be had without resorting to name calling or insulting

Is why some women don’t like us guys in gurl mode very much, esp. those who’s man enjoys fucking gurls like me more than they do their female partners.

Do you think this attitude is why many women are concerned for their safety in public toilets?

Tbf, in public toilets I'm more concerned whether there's any soap so I can wash my hands, rather than whether or not there's two people fucking

It's more the threat of being sexually assaulted that makes me not want to share enclosed, isolated spaces with unknown penises.

Maybe when men stop using them as weapons against us I'll be a bit more relaxed.

Cis men don't transition to still attack women with their penises. Trans women don't transition to attack people in toilets. Your problem is with men, not trans women

Throughout history, predatory men have abused any opportunity to get access to women and children. They've became priests, sports coaches, teachers etc.

Putting on a pair of fucking kitten heels and some eyeliner shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

And putting on a pair of fucking kitten heels and some eyeliner doesn't make them a trans woman. There's a big difference that you're missing there!"

Ah yes. I'm forgetting that what makes them a woman is them simply declaring they're a woman.

Fuck that. I know how it feels to have my body violated and if I have to speak the unpalatable truth and put up with being called a bigot or a terf to stop another woman knowing that pain then I'm going to do it.

I agree that offending at the same rate is problematic (if that is the case). I'd have assumed it would be much lower.

I don't agree it justifies a need for single sex spaces. Neither do I think it's useful to have a culture which insinuates all men are potential predators.

"

So because not all men are predators we should just let them in to women's safe spaces?

The issue isn't trans women, the issue is men pretending to be trans.

But we don't do the same for all other areas where men predate others, not just women. We don't stop them bring father's or husband's, it as mentioned previously priests, teachers, sports coaches. In fact we don't stop them going out for the night with friends or go on dates or drive taxis.
