I simply can’t watch or give a crap about missing the World Cup this time around.

Shame on any country, team, player whiteout the balls to stand up to it.

FIFA is a company that some who’s has countries willing to pay billions to bid and build infrastructure, mistreat and stiff workers out of hard earned wages. Flout safety laws beyond the point of costing real lives …to attract a few weeks of kicking a ball around a field in a country that does give a hoot about human rights for everyday citizens? #bollox to that, to FIFA and to anyone who tries to justify a game over a life.

I get what you mean, but I think it's a bit harsh to blame the players. They had nothing to do with the selection process and with a world cup every 4 years, they don't get many chances to play in one at all. All the rest I absolutely agree with you

Thank you. I very happy you do. I can understand their drive to play the World Cup but I can also see the adulation that taking a very public stand can be far more rewarding for them and for the future of the game. To tolerate this then what next? Quatar are sportswashing their brand of cuntism and FIFA are taking the cash for human lives and human rights. Everyone can take a stand. Sadly too few do

That's a very good point, we don't know the wider implications of letting this world cup go ahead. On the other hand, the players didn't sign up to be political activists. With their influence, people can easily ask why they support X cause instead of Y and it snowballs from there. I can see why they would rather focus on the footballing aspect of it.
