Hello, it's me again, Mrs. Defective. I'm just having a moan really, so feel free to tootle right on by if you don't like moaning.

Reading back the letter from yesterday's trip to the women's health doc made for sober reading. The surgery I had two years ago has partly failed. My other problems COULD be fixed surgically but it's looking increasingly like I'm hypermobile and so the risk of it failing is astronomical.

I'm not quite yet 37 but I am literally falling to pieces. Having more surgery would improve my quality of life for as long as it lasts, but the consequences of early failure is repeated surgery until the point where scar tissue would render me completely useless and everything would be stitched shut

Urgh. Being a woman sucks, it really does. Why are there so many bits to go wrong???

Probably not EDS, but something very similar with similar symptoms, especially in my lower body. Thank you.

Sorry to ask for specifics but I know the 2 common prolapses, where is the 3rd?

My mum had horrible womens health issues and she had to have a full hysterectomy at 34 she was decanted.

Not for now, no. Too much risk of it failing after a few years

yes being a woman sucks. Yesterday I was poked and prodded and pinned externally, interally in my body and in my mind.....was swearing that men have no idea what it's like...and I haven't had any children. Had a mini mental meltdown last night.

My body and my brain is screaming to pack it in but I don't want to give up just yet.

This IS the third/fourth opinion after many years of fighting. I trust this gynae and she has sent me for a battery of tests that others discounted etc, including a specialist in London (awaiting more gruesome tests in Jan).

Pizza solves a lot. I had noodle soup instead. My mom use to give me chicken noodle soup when I was ill.

I have a leg condition that I have been offered another operation on. That would be my 11th Op with the last one going badly wrong with infection and a blood clot.

I’m terrified I will eventually end up in a chair but not sure I can undergo another OP. My legs are just knots of scar tissue as it is.

Not quite at your level OP but worrying none the less.

I hope you get some good news soon.

Sorry to hear that. It's hard to get your head around, when your body fails you.

Honestly, wheelchairs aren't as scary as people think they are. If you were to end up needing one, get an active lifestyle chair like a Kuschall, Quickie or RGK or something. My wheelchair is a tool of enablement. I can do so much more with it, compared to without it.

May I also say, these problems happen relatively often in women (but more likely to a lesser extent/fewer concurrent things). However, too often, women are disbelieved, ignored or the problems treated like a joke. Just think how many make jokes about a weak bladder* or similar? But that is a sign of pelvic floor injury, for example, and can be treated.

We need better healthcare, not Tena lady!

*This is one I DON'T have. I have the opposite!

I'm hypermobile, not as much fun as it used to be, definitely not very flexible anymore!

As a result my body over compensates and I'm always very tense. Causes chronic pain and fatigue.

Think a new thing might be gluteal tendinopathy... Just debating if I can face going through the NHS process again to try and get help.
