"Treat her with respect"

I see "Treat her with respect" written by loads of men when they verify women.

Does it actually need to be spelled out - treating someone respectfully? I for one, would never treat someone in any other way - but maybe that's just me. Am I being naïve or missing something?

Or is it just lazy writing? They've seen it in other verifications and not knowing what to write, have just blindly copied it without thinking it through?

Thoughts?

It shouldn't need to be said.

But in doing so publicly many will hope for a second opportunity to get their dick wet, as well as looking like one of the 'good guys', 'genuine' and 'not like all the other men on Fab'.

Totally agree, it is more about the guy itself that the woman they are verifying.

it is often followed by : she is a good friend.

Saying it won't make the disrespectful change.

Saying it implies that they think some women aren't deserving of respect.

Saying it implies that disrespect is the default

Just one of the worn out phrases commonly used on here. To me sounds bit patronising to other men to follow;)

It’s up there with “if you get the chance ladies, don’t pass this one by” as a veri cliche. Think people just see it and repeat it without much thought.

Short hand for "I can't think or don't want to say anything specifically nice about the person or what we did, so I will just provide a general platitude in lieu of original content"

It has always read to me as a rather school-boyish bro-code for "nudge nudge wink wink, she'll give you a good rogering & do the 'super naughty' things if you butter her up enough so don't eff it up mate"

So yeah, charming.

Plus all the bits others have posted about why respect is a basic not an extra

Women and couples write it too. We assume they're not that good with words and copy what they've seen on other verifications.

Interesting!

I haven’t read all the reply’s and obviously you have been inundated with the calm down retorts

But!

You have a point. We get told respect us earned.

So.. “treat her with respect” , is it earned ?

Lots of guys have advised to treat me sigh respect in my verifications, and I have always been grateful… but I don’t feel I need to be treat with respect …

If I meet a guy and he doesn’t treat me with any respect, I can deal with it ( I keep a fucking big hammer in my handbag )

I wonder how many who write this on verifications also have Sydney university or since Fab became a, on their profiles.

This was an argument Fabio used. However if the bad behavior causes couples and single women to stop meeting single men, does that not make meeting couples and single women more difficult by reducing the pool of people available to meet.

I have no money on this debate, I am just curious of the counter argument.

I’m not convinced it reduces the pool since new women and couples join all the time!

I thought about that, but there are no statistics either way, just individual gut feeling. Thanks.

There’s a lot of warning to treat people with respect that I’m never going to meet.

It must be the ‘big brother’ in them, it’s cute.
