It depends on the context they're used. If terms are used to spread hate then it's easy to see them as bad words with which they can't recover.

They're just sounds. I could call an amazonian tribesperson a cunt and they would be confused rather than offended. I've never understood how the words themselves can be problematic. I mean, sure, they can be used in ways that are rude, impolite,, derogatory, dismissive, abusive, but this is all in the context of how, where, when, why and who. Blanking a letter out of a newspaper article for example "to which the defendant replied "F*ck off" is comical, because we all say fuck when we read it, removing the 'a' hasn't changed it's meaning in the slightest and yet somehow that's seen as removing the swear? Nope... Judge people on their intention *and* their vocabulary, but don't blame the words for existing...

Words hold power. There are some words that will never leave my mouth. They’re disgusting. They hold the power to hurt. I don’t think words are either good or bad, they’re just words. But intention, history and context matter.

"bad" is a particularly bad word esp. on here because it can mean both good and bad, depending on context. Imagine a symbol...that means one thing but also its opposite!

who would associate "truss" with a framework supporting a roof, bridge, or other structure these days.
