Just organising a camping weekend for Fabbers and got me wondering what is the one thing you would take with you, camping equipment wise if you were going.. apart from the obvious tent beds etc

Pick a campsite next to a five star hotel where I would stay. Can't beat room service.

Having actually camped in Snowdonia, North Wales in January I would recommend two sleeping bags.

Now that means getting two double bags true, but its worth it. also air bed to cushion and insulate from ground.

Oh and a bottle of champagne and some strawberries.

Sheffield

The foil emergency blankets are handy to put under the airbed for insulation.

A Coleman Dual Fuel 2 burner stove for cooking as I don't use propane because I don't fancy taking a big canister, and butane and butane/propane canisters do not work at sub zero temperatures.

A dual fuel stove enables me to cook all year round.

I camp with EHU and carry a fan heater as part of my gear all year round.

Heating is definitely recommended for this time of the year.

Over Christmas and New Year is the longest period that the caravan's off the road, looking forward to next trip away in January.

Gatwick

an LED headlamp...(or a pair of).....helps you to see when putting the tent up when you arrive at the campsite after dark (even in june) cos you've been stuck in traffic for hours....and just generally handy as it's handsfree so you can see to open and pour the wine when its dark too...

No suggestions from me, as I don't "do" camping, would miss my creature comforts far too much.
