Firstly I think men and women are equally guilty of this. I just think it depends on the platform. Of course here women outweigh men but in general I’ve seen many women be as shallow as guys

In life or on here?

On here women are much more shallow probably because they can afford to be. With so many men willing to fuck anything that moves whether they’re attracted to them or not. #notallmen before anyone starts.

Generally speaking... yes, I think women are more shallow than men in that context.

I disagree.

'Some' women may be of course. But going by that definition I've seen far more men being judgemental about earnings, status, material possessions such as cars, houses, gadgets and gizmos, particularly in regard to other men. Many are also particularly shallow when it comes to their choice of female partner. Not gym fit or a little tubby? Fine for a no strings bunk up on here but wouldn't be seen out with them in case their mates saw them. They're probably less fussy about a woman's earnings of course as they already pride themselves on their huge Bank balance, like to show it off and be seen as an alpha male capable of spoiling and funding their partner.

So nope. IRL I think men are more guilty of it.

And on here I don't see women as being shallow. Just focussed and less willing to go outside their preferences fo casual sex. Is that because the ratios allow them to? Probably. But that doesn't make them shallow.

Not at all, in my experience men are far more shallow.

My experience is me, blocking someone in the past for not having 36 pictures of themselves naked. And by 'in the past', I mean just now, purely so I could participate in this thread.

If anyone thinks I'm shallow it's because they judged me on how I look and decided not to take the time to get to know me.

I think it's fine to be shallow on fab and I think it's fine to judge people on how they look off fab too. Surely nobody is suggesting I give the guy shadowing me in a deserted street who looks deeply suspicious a chance by getting to know him

As a general rule of thumb in the past, I think women judge on looks more especially of each other. Men more on job positions, what car they own etc. But I think there is less of a divide these days. I think social media has made us more judgemental, why post pictures of your car, holiday your abs on Instagram and the like. If you're not looking to be judged and judge others?

Once again, its a question reducing all behaviour through the lense of a single word, which without proper definition within the context of the question, can mean just about anything to everybody and does.

It's all swings and roundabouts really, the metric is subjective assessment built on skewed sampling bias.

When does personal preference, become being shallow? Wheres the point of change, what delineates one from the other?

Yes I'm sure we can all pick out an extreme example, but I think generalising it to an entire gender is churlish.

Also it's women.

Most people are shallow, and it is society that makes them so. Money-worship, material success, fleeting fame, 'reality' TV: everything we see tells us that looks and wealth matter more than anything.

I choose my friends for their ability to show self-knowledge and think differently, and have far more female friends than male. Maybe that's me being shallow, as a heterosexual man. Maybe it's happenstance. But being shallow is the norm fir a reason, and it ISN'T human nature.

After all, 'deep' people don't drive the economy.

Probably equally shallow but more acceptable for ladies. which is a bit unfair.

Seen it on lots of chat groups and sometimes in real life where ladies say things and fine but men get jumped on for similar comments.
