"I am watching this on channel 4 at mo some of the singing is ..... hmmm" The film doesn't focus on the singing as such. It's the emotion and theatre of the script.

" It's a form that had a little slump but somehow telling a story in song and dance with a smidgen of acting has proved very popular, especially if the tunes leaving you humming along. Some prefer their musicals in operatic form; it doesn't have as much dancing.

" I know you're passionate. Opera and musical theatre are different forms but they do share the same idea of telling a story, end to end, through music - the tunes and the words. I can listen to the music part of either opera or musical theatre and enjoy that but when I go to see it at the theatre or on film or television the physical action adds to that. Even with opera that action is choreographed.

I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high And life worth living I dreamed that love would never die I dreamed that God would be forgiving The greatest lyrics you'll find in any musical I think you'll find that accolade belongs to Grease. It's the word, you know. Absolutely. And it includes lyrics such as "There are worse things I could do, than go with a boy or two" and goes on to say how bad it is to smile at them and bat my eyes and "refuse to see it through". Is it a thing you'd never do? No, I never would. And to cry in front of you would be the worst thing I could do. *Cue Patty Simcox coming through the doors* 'scuse me. Can you please stop sullying this Les Mis thread with Grease references. I'd have gone with "enhance" Oh Em Gee! Are you seriously telling me you like Grease?? Please, not Grease 2 too Nobody likes Grease 2 Grease is genius. Grease 2 is the polar opposite." I have a friend who loved Grease 2. I tried to see what she saw in it but I couldn't find anything appealing. I agree though, worse sequel ever to a great film.

"I banned my kids from watching it again tonight..can't stand it! One should never inflict one's own prejudices on one's children. You could be depriving them of something they thoroughly enjoy The operative word is "again". They haven't been deprived, she just prefers them to enjoy it when she is out of earshot. She could leave the room. I bet she's one of them women that watches Dirty Dancing on a loop. I think youll find if its on a loop its because my kids enjoy watching it.. It's nice they appreciate music and dancing. Do you make them turn off Dirty Dancing as well? " Whoa did you actually read my posts? I have seen part of the film and decided it wasnt for me. My kids like it so watch it while I'm out..this works excellently for both parties. Is this so hard to understand?

I'm not saying the music is as good as LM but the film was miles better than 2
