I send one with a first message, I see no point in enjoying the chat, only to find they’re not attracted to me.

We don't see the need to send face pics after a couple of messages. We value our privacy.

It irks us when people ask for a face pic within a couple of messages - and even more when they ask without sending theirs.

We like a face pic, we always send one, one of the most awkward parts of the site is when you start building a rapport with someone and then have to say I'm sorry I'm not attracted to your face.

My attraction to people is intellect, face, body.

But my wife's is face intellect body.

I reckon the best tactic is to read the profile and follow what the person you're interested in wants. If they don't specify, then dealers choice

People have commented previously on threads saying it’s shallow but a nice face that I’m attracted to is very important to me

OP, your face is on your public profile so a separate picture isn't necessary imo.

Personally, I have to like a person's face to find them attractive so a pic is a total must in the first message or two.

It absolutely is shallow. There are some legitimate reasons, like they remind of someone you'd rather not be reminded of in a sexual context. But we do all have tastes and desires and we don't have to compromise on those unless we want to.
