I'll tune in too.. Think mine is getting bumped due to the logistics of a very unexpected household

Hiya hunny x

Just starting myself and apart from my body being a little weirdo, like if i scratch myself i break out in itchiness... or brain fog....or periods whenever or never lol on a positive side...

ive never in my life been this horny!!!! I mean it i just feel so sexy atm x

I mean i get aroused by just looking at someone! Add in a sexy chest and i swear i drool...

But joking aside, anything weird, go to your GP x

Glad of this thread as Im waiting for all the horrible things to start and happen so it would be nice to hear some good things x

Best of luck x

This may sound silly but you're not pregnant are you? A friend of mine at 48 was in a similar situation and thought the menopause was starting however it turned out she was actually pregnant!

It's so strange the brain fog and the hot sweats are the worst.

But being so horny is the bonus. I have always loved sex. But my sex drive as gone through the roof.

I have a great doctor who steered me away from HRT,

But as put me on anti depressants and given me a list of herbel supplements to take. Which for me are working great.

But everyone is different so I would advise you to speak to your doctor. Hope this was helpful good luck xx

I believe I’m going through it at the age of 53 (had a hysterectomy 4 years ago, but kept ovaries). My symptoms started about a year ago, but are very random. I’m not on HRT (yet), as difficulties getting a GP appointment. So I’m seeing how I go.

For mood swings, I find exercise helps, as well as managing weight gain. It’s also important for maintaining bone and muscle mass, and flexibility now.

Any hot flushes or sweats, layers and small fans are your friends. Identify and avoid or reduce exposure to triggers. Mine are very hot kitchens, sometimes alcohol, for example.

Try to manage any sleep disturbances with relaxing techniques, avoid screens and if you need it, the occasional Nytol helps - advised by my pharmacist.

You could try sage tablets like I did on the advice from Holland and Barrett. They did seem to help, but after they ran out, I didn’t take any more. Since my symptoms occur randomly.

Seek professional advice if you need it. Hope this helps.

J

Wife is a nurse and menopause expert. Its a really serious and always misunderstood thing, especially in the workplace. Husbands and partners often don’t understand, and why should they as GPs misdiagnose the symptoms.

I don't want to alarm you but I thought I was starting menopause at 46 but was actually pregnant. Take a test to reassure yourself. If as I'm sure it will be it's negative ask your GP surgery which doctor specialises in women's health and try to make an appointment with them.

Good luck

I've been menopausal for guts of a year now.

Hot flushes aren't that bad, they quickly pass.

Mood swings - not so much. I really struggled at the start trying to control them, got to a very dark place and am still waiting on counselling.

Meanwhile my oncologist prescribed me some medication to keep menopausal side effects somewhat in check.

Mood swings are still there and still quite severe, but they don't come as often.

Unfortunately it's something all women have to endure while being called "too hormonal and too emotional"..
