You probably think this thread is about you....

Confidence or arrogance?

I've an acquaintance who is forever telling me how great she is, that whatever she wears, she looks fantastic in etc and I find it really annoying.

I've also come across a person on fab who 90% of the time will say the same.

can people really be that self assured and have such a high opinion of themselves without coming across as horribly arrogant?

i know I have described myself as sexy and attractive but is there a difference?

Well I look at it like this if you don't think your a good looker then why would you think somebody else would find you good looking the same goes for love you can't expect someone to love you if you don't love yourself. Wright or wrong thats the way it is.

sexy is it always about physical appearance ?

your friend sounds insecure to me. very attractive people who rely a lot on how they look learn a lesson later in life. when their looks fade and they start to wrinkle and sag.

So true there are some very attractive ppl with nasty natures and when the looks have gone they have niether looks or a nice personality.

well you dont sound much different to your friend though.

i like confident people who like themselves, dont like arrogant people unless they are arrogant in a funny way not taking themselves too seriously.

I find people with low self esteem who are needy and keep moaning about the way they look just as anoying as arrogant people.

I'm confident in my appearance but with a healthy awareness that I'm not everyone's cup of tea and that I'm no spring chicken and not built like a supermodel. Having said that many men prefer a little extra weight and a mature woman.

But I do find that some women find me intimidating/threatening since I have learnt that you can't judge who will be attracted by their looks so if I think a guy is fit I will go for it - which is viewed as arrogance by some women since they think I'm playing out of my league. They are even more put out if/when I succeed!

And since I don't take a no as a personal insult I can remain flirty/chatty/friendly with the ones who turn me down.

I beg to differ on that one! I would never tell anybody how great how I am, how great I look. I describe myself as sexy and attractive because that is how other people have described me. I wouldn't dream of ever saying how fantastic I am because I know that I'm most definitely not!

Blokes will say anything if they think it'll get them a shag.

I'm not unattractive but I'm most definitely not stunning, and the only way anyone is dying from my body is if I fall on them or accidentally suffocate them!

Im happy with how I look and am body confident. I walk tall!

I am also aware that some guys like women with more padding than I have so each to their own.

I like me!
