The word LOCAL is the key word here! The survey included people as far away as Burnley and Stockport. Everyone in Manchester knows that Manchester City which is actually IN the city is supported by Manchester fans. Myth about the myth exploded.

The fact is Manchester City ARE the only Manchester club, United are based in the City of Salford, which technically means that the Manchester Derby isn't even a derby as a true derby is between two clubs of the same city such as the two Bristol clubs, Liverpool & Everton and even Stoke & Port Vale.

So pre 1992 you were a cricket fan (No shame in that) but in 1992/3 season you decided to follow the team that you had no previous interest in which just happens to be the double season for Man utd.

Man Utd to win 3-1. I've been a united fan 25 years season ticket holder for 15. It'll be a tough match tomorrow but win, lose or draw come the end of the season it'll be United sitting at the top.

Nope, I have my season ticket and I'm.happy. I couldn't get to Moscow when we beat chelsea, so I spent the time I'm the bishops blaize pub on the east stand of Old Trafford.

Can't be bothered with who supports who from where ever. Does it really matter I was born and brought up in Cornwall but at school everyone supported man u. Today I support Plymouth argyle coyg. Now I live no where near Manchester and Plymouth is not much closer.

Uniteds original ground when they first started was around the corner from City's ground is now so they are the original team of Manchester.

They only moved out to Trafford because it was the best place to construct The Theatre of Dreams
